my brother has a 206,and on the driver side of the car(right hand),it got completed scratched and dented by some stupid carravan driver..and it was their fault and now we are still waiting for the insurance to contact their insurance to hear their side of the story,it has been 2weeks now and still no contact =/ and they say it cost £12** to repair it if we was going to pay for it..why should we pay for it if its their fault and £12** is half of the price we paid for the car...so my brother is thinking if we should just trade it in and get another car but which one??
He wants the next level to a 206 so like..in civics range.
So heres a couple cars i could only think of:
02-04 Honda Civic 1.6 Vtec
Ford Focus 1.6
Vauxhall Astra 1.6
Valkswagon Golf 1.6
so yeah any others would be great, they would need be hatchback and they would need be affordable price like say less than £4000?

I had a 1992 Honda Civic Si until 2007. It's a great car. Fuckin' bullet proof. As long as you change the timing belt when you're supposed to, the car is like the Energizer bunny.
After about 15 years though, shit does start to go bad. The one weak system on that car was the a/c but since you only get few weeks of nice weather a year in England (seriously, August man, that's it, WTF?) that's probably not an issue.
It's the kind of car you have to drive though. Once I started parking it for a week or so at a time, I started having more problems.
When you say caravan, are we talking lorry or travelers, because if the latter, you don't really expect to get paid right?

If it totaled, replace it. If it isn't, drive it until it explodes. XD
Most vehicles only depreciate in value.

Except muscle cars...the '69 Charger was like about $5k when they were released, now you can get 'em for like $50,000 (rough estimate for a freshly restored one)

Although, after figuring in inflation, increasing in value often just means they haven't lost value.
