I am pretty sure that there are a few of you that are mechanics that have taken this that lurk on here. I don't have any "formal" training, but I know everything about engines. I have put a head gasket on a Northstar Cadillac, I have rebuilt the 2.2L in a Cavalier, I have rebuilt a motor in a 4.6L mustang, intake gasket on a 3.1L GM, fuel injectors on a 300ZX etc etc. I have done over 50 major jobs beyond the simple stuff. I really know my shit, but I want to get certified so I can have more perks when getting a job.

Going for A1 and maybe A7 and A8. I don't have ANY work experience, but I can take the test, get the score sheet, and then do the 2 years experience and get the full certification.

So, anyone have any advice for this? I have already studied the shit out of the practice material on the ASE website.

I don't think you will have any problems with the tests. If you grasp all of the practice stuff, you will know the stuff on the real test. :)

Well, I am going today to take the tests. Wish me luck. I hope to remember the 5th of November.

Remember, remember the 5th of November, the Gunpowder Treason and plot.

Sorry, couldn't help it.

At any rate, best of luck. I bet you'll do fine.

Ah yes, happy Guy Fawkes Day! I would have forgotten had it not been for this thread.
