Could we have an Animals section on GN? Perhaps with a couple of sub forums covering the most poplular types such as cats & dogs?

I'm about to create a cat thread and I think it would be good to be able to put in such a section.

No, just a general Animals section, although I guess a Pets section would be good too, so you could have a structure something like:

Animals
- Pets
-- Cats
-- Dogs
-- Rabbits

etc

I don't think too many sections would be helpful though, so I would be happy with simply an Animals section.

personally i think thats kinda pushing it.

I dont think that, that part of the forum would get much traffic. hence your better off just starting up a combined thread & see if anyone takes an interest in it.

I think you can just make a pet thread in the misc section. If it turns out we have countless pet threads at some point in time we can always make a forum for it.

Hmmm, ok. As you can see, I made a MEOW! The CAT lovers thread (http://www.generalnonsense.net/showthread.php?t=1171) in the misc section a few days ago.

What we now need is "WOOF! The DOG lovers thread" and watch people waive handbags at dawn over which pet is better! :) LOL

It's like 80 CM long, I bought it at IKEA for like 8 euros. I keep it under my bed.

I do have a chicken and two megawups, though I don't think a single soul outside of the Netherlands knows what those are.

On topic, I don't have anything against an Animals Section personally but I think demand would be very low (meaning very few posts resulting in a dead sub-forum), unless the worst of the worst happens and everyone would start posting pictures of their, their family's and their friend's long-cat....
Which would be even worse than having a dead sub-forum... :eek:
