That's right, decided to get a bike after doing some research and cost analysis. It'll be a 2005 Kawasaki Ninja 250, with only just over 2700 miles. From a friend of mine, only wants $1750 for it and is willing to take payments, so it's right up my alley. I do have a few questions about gear though...
For helmet, I was thinking of this one http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/38/12708/ITEM/Vemar-VSREV-Helmet.aspx
I don't know a whole lot about this stuff, but that one looks like a good pick and won't break the bank either. I also think I need gloves and jacket, but I don't even know where to start for those. I live it Georgia, so it doesn't get too cold around here, maybe like 40 to 50's Fahrenheit in winter and high 90's in the summer. Any input appreciated. Thanks.

Oh, for the helmet...the bike is black and green so something that matches that would be nice, but not necessary :D

Should be a good starter bike, a friends gf has one I hear it has a hard time doing 60mph, so you most likely won't be riding it too long before looking to move bigger. Either way thats a newer bike and with that price you should be able to make your cash back on it easily, so defineatly a good stepping stone to learning riding.

Lol, I don't think that's right...when I test rode it I was doing almost 40 in second gear

WWII German Army helmet and some goggles would look way more badass.

I only buy helmets that are DOT and SNELL aproved. That one is only DOT aproved.Look at it this way,if you think you have a 99 dollar head get that one .If you think its worth a little more get a SNELL aproved full faced helmet. As far as jackets I like the JOE ROCKET line of jackets and gloves they look good on and off the bike.

Yes I like that one.Snell aproved means it can take more impact.

$150 isn't too bad either. And it comes in green! I'm really excited about doing all this. I have to save up a bit more, probably 2 more checks cause I have to buy books tomorrow, and then it's on!

Friend probably was lieing :p He's use to riding a much larger crotch rocket though, so I would assume he didn't mean it was fast, which should mean its a good starter bike.
