Cavalier sells for 6 grand, bought an A4 with a slight tick for 4 grand.

Having the timing belt replaced (previous owner is covering it) and buying an engine rebuild kit. Chipping it, stronger motor mount, short shifter, full intake, exhaust, pulley. Will probably sell the 'Stang... I LOVE this sucker. 2.8L V6 and 5 speed, quattro for lots of fun on the bends!

I'm assuming its a newer car being 4 grand with a tick. Why you buying an engine rebuild kit? Is it rod knock, or whats the issue? Also pulley? Car come SC'd from this guy, or you mean UDP's?

A tick might not even mean the engine need a rebuild. Might just need flushed. Could be as simple as a stuck lifter.

At any rate, be careful constantly switching cars. They will bend you over on insurance if you do it too much.

The lifter is a common issue, easily fixed, the rebuild kit is for strengthening it... I might see boost in the future :D

A regular rebuild kit won't really strengthen it, unless of course it's just worn out. If it's already in good shape, putting regular replacement parts in it won't accomplish anything. You need to be looking at aftermarket upgraded rods and pistons if strengthening is your goal.

I'm aware, and they the kit I'm looking at says that it would be good for taking 10PSI from the matched supercharger, anything past that would significantly decrease the life of the engine.

I wonder what the transmission can handle though.

10psi isn't much, thats most likely stock cast pistons and crap. Heck I know people who put 15PSI through SHO 3.0L's on completely stock motors and do fine. Like Wile E said, what you are buying sound to be stock replacement parts, if you were picking up forged pistons and connecting rods/crank you would be looking at capability far beyond 10psi. Probably going to be best to check some VW/Audi forums and see what they recommended, but I wouldn't suggest a stock rebuild kit if your planning on pushing air through it, unless the motor is crap, which sounds like it's not.

Also it probably isn't going to help that the car is AWD. I don't know how much those trannys can take, but with AWD it's just gonna be harder on it, when tires brake loose that saves your transmission, but if you launch pretty hard and nothing gives, that means your clutch and/or other things will.
