My cat got hit by a car this morning. Had her for 10 years and some careless asshat (wh) ran her over. This royally sucks.

Yeah, same here. The SOB nearly cut her in half. My only thanks is that she died instantly.

Yes. I once saw a cat got hit by a car as a kiddo, and it didn't die instantly, but struggled with death. That was terrible, I still have this mental image.:(

Remember the good times with her.

sorry to hear that jc
i remember when my mums cat was hit by a car i was livid, if i'd have caught the as****e i would have burnt his car (probably with him in it) luckily for them he survived ,even spent some of me savings after that to put a fence up in the back yard to keep e'm safe ,(has the added effect of keeping burglars out)
i just wish sometimes god would have given them more brains,
reminds me of the times i had to rescue my old boy from under the neighbours car ,luckily he was never hit ,
but they never seem to learn to stay of the flamin roadhttp://tpucdn.com/forums/images/smilies/shadedshun.gif

At least cats are intelligent enough to not turn around in the middle of the road and running back where they came from like deers do. That way you can actually avoid hitting them if YOU PAY ATTENTION. Where I live there are numerous cats, and especially in the morning I drive extra slow and careful, because I know all of a sudden a ninja cat can flykick out of them bushes!

Heh, once, I found a very young cat around the house in the morning (4:30am). Turned out later, it ran away from my neighbours, because it was just a few weeks old, and new to the hood. Now, that kitteh was with me then, and meowed and crawled up my pants (owch), so I figured it was hungry and I gave her some meat. Indeed it was hungry. I then put it on a blanket on the porch and wanted to go to my car. BUT the lil fella followed me and sneaked under the car. Okay, I put her back again. Stepped into the car, and there it was again, sneaking under the car. After the third time of stalking, I decieded to started the motor to scare it out. it worked, the kitteh surfaced again, and ran somewhere into the bushes. I then drove off at like 1mph looking everywhere not to overrun this fella.

It was found by the neighbour eventually by the way, because I told my mum the story and that neighbour came to our house asking if anybody saw the escaper.

I hope that kitteh learned for life and won't go near cars recklessly again.

well the boy in question was a clever devil he could even open the front door and the shed window (little sod had to fit a window lock to stop him getting out) but he never stopped going under the neighbours car ,how the flip he survived i'll never know pure luck i guess, still, sad news:(

Yeah, my mom is taking Sasha's death really hard. The road I live on it bad for animals, between my family and one neighbor we have lost 7 cats and 4 dogs over the last 15 years. It's a residential area, but since it's a farm road, the speed limit is 55MPH and people rarely obey it. I frequently see people at 70+mph and there is never a cop that patrols the road. On top of that, there are two schools within a mile of me, one being a high school.

I know exactly what she was doing, across the road is open field that is filled with rats. She would hunt em, but not eat em. After going 10 years, I would have though she would avoid the road, which is why it was such a shock. Normally they either get whacked in the first two years or they avoid the road their whole lives.

Oh and she was in the middle of a two lane road, so I know that she didn't just jump out of grass.

Anyway, here is a pic of her, RIP gripe ass.

She was a cute kitteh too :( sorry to hear man, my sisters Cat got hit by a car almost a year ago. Though lucky for her it only damaged her leg which had to be amputated. my sister spent $3000 to have her cat's leg amputated and she save her cat's life.

Its really hard to lose a friends whether they were a Human or animal
