The only reason it's alright is because you just played the game. Taken out of the blue the song isn't very good at all.

Ground Control II: Operation Exodus and Overlord II have the best soundtracks ever. The best part: buy the game and the music for Overlord II is sitting right there in the program directory as unprotected MP3s for the taking.

I doubt they are uploaded anywhere.

I thought only the Spectre Induction and M4 Part 2 (Faunts)--the credits music--really stood out. There's several others (Mass Effect Theme, The Citadel, The Thorian, Virmire Ride, Exit, and Vigil) stood out as being above average. The You Tube ones you linked to sound like crap. :(

Most of the BoF IV songs were great. The Ludia and Wyndia themes are great too.

The opening animation's music was composed by a different person than the in-game music though, but is still just as great.

So to enumerate them:
Music for the opening, Truth and Dreams, How Long Will the Rain Last?, Thousand Wings, A Raging Emperor's Banquet.

For Suikoden II its:
Homesickness, Imprisoned Town, Heart-Softening Theme, The Fugue "Praise be to my Master".

For the FF games the only one that really stands out for me were the FF VIII songs (although I've only played VII-IX, and Dissidia). So it's the Man with the Machine Gun and Eyes on Me.

Legend of Legaia it's Light of the Town, Forest of Mystery, and Dream, Teague.

Another theme i like is the Halo 2 title theme because Steve Vai plays it.

I love all FF7 music, especially the boss theme which i learned on guitar.

And you cant forget the classic Zelda music. Learning that on guitar too.
