After 25 years of puffing on big tobacco's peter I finally sucked my last Camel(nutlick) 11/30

It was a personal decision but I thought I'd share.(u)

First benefit is the bedsheets no longer reek of mortuary odor in the morning...all that stank has oozed out of my pores and now it's just the usual funk(poop)

Second benefit is I now have found other ways to waste the time usually reserved for sucking on a butt.

No doubt the Demon Nicotine is still waiting to (nutkick) but I've moved on(toast)

Yep I have a feeling that Demon is just lurking. But I'm tired of doing stuff like a damn robot just because my cravings tell me too...

not that I'll stop jerkin the gherkin or anything crazy like that :p

Congrats! I'm on week 2 of Chantix. My quit date is next Monday. I used Chantix a year ago, and I was able to quit for 2 months. This time will be for good.

You will feel the 'demon lurking' for a long time.
I quit for 2 years (pregnancy)

In my case the demon was still there, I used to feel the urge for the cigarette every now and then. I kept strong for the sake of baby inside me / breastfeeding... etc....

When bf'ing was over, I gave in.
I thought it would be something wonderful... like being on a diet, reaching goal weight and being able to eat what previously had been prohibited...

I nearly vomited the first breath of cig I took.
I felt so sorry that I tried it again.
Because it reeked of yuckiness.
It didn't feel good.
Yet it got me hooked once again.

So not worth it.
Stay strong!!!

Glad to hear you quit CD. I've been off for 8yrs now. Used to smoke a pack a day until I had surgery on my wisdom teeth and couldn't eat anything for 10 days. Seemed like a good enough reason at the time to quit.

Just remember that the most difiicult period when you quit is the first 3 weeks and then 5-6mo after. So stick with it!

Also dont supplement your habits with something else. Some people say drink water instead or go to the gym, but thats just feeding one habit with another.

That's how I quit this time.

This is the 4th or 5th time for me. lol.

Last time, I quit for a year and a half, and ended up starting again. This time it's hopefully permanent.

The cravings never stopped, no matter how long I went without (even now). I feel stronger/more confident this time around tho.
