And the Americans fund this government, which arms the same people who take American lives.

Nuckin Futs

This has been an ongoing mess for too long. If US pulls out we look like we gave up on the people, if the US stays we just continue this ludicrous cycle.

Uh? How do we know they aren't all Taliban trying to change the West's focus from them to Pakistan? If we change focus to Pakistan than they'll be free to take over Afghanistan's political system...again.

Also, if it is indeed accurate, whomever is in charge of those troops may be a Taliban sympathizer. That doesn't necessarily mean Pakistan isn't trying to help but it does mean they should not.

I guess we haven't established a basic fact: Does Pakistan meet the old saying "in the enemy of your enemies, you will find a friend?" That is, does Pakistan truly view the Taliban as the enemy? If not, Pakistan is as much the enemy as the Taliban. The only reason why, if that is the case, it is kept on the down-low is because Pakistan possess nuclear weapons...

Indeed it does, over half of the Pak Army lack the will to fight the Taliban because they are "of their own kind".

Pakistan does overtly support Taliban, and it's established even before this video. Which is why the US Congress is tabling the Kerry-Luger bill, which makes aid to the country legally-binding to not be used in 'such' activities, or against neighbouring countries such as Afghanistan (under US/NATO control), or India.

A bill restricting how Pakistan spends its aide? How is that not cooky?

Bush didn't get strict with Pakistan and it doesn't appear Obama is either. If I were President, I'd keep it short and simple: "You (Pakistan) are not helping in dealing with a global threat. You either cease in hindering our multinational efforts to bring peace and security to Afghanistan or you are henceforth considered my enemy. Should you decide to turn this into a nuclear war, we are not alone in bringing your country to a rapid demise. Think carefully before your next move because it may be your last."

Basically demand for cooperation or a declaration of war: the ball is in their court.
