I'm actually considering that since I found out Army training is about 24 weeks. Might as well go all out and be a royal. Always wanted to be in the SBS or SAS.

Ahhhh but why do you think that to get into the SAS for example, you have to do at least 3 years "regular" service first, then go through a 16 week selection procedure followed by (if successful) a full years additional training, then of course a probation year on top of all that.
of course I am a little Bias, my first conflict was in the Falklands war (really showing my age now!) I was a LCpl serving with the 5th Airborne Brigade, now that was a long time ago but to give you an idea back then (although things may well have changed), 2 para and 45 Commando had to tab 35 miles very quickly in some of the most hostile ground anywhere on the planet, the average weight of kit they were carring was around 115 lbs..... 2 para lost 2 soldiers on the way (lost as in didnt make it due to injury or just physical exhaustion), 45 Commando lost 38 :D

It's not the physical aspect that bothers me or the mental, its just if i mess up even a little I have a tendency to quit rather than fail.

Yeah i understand that, but just dont quit and dont fail, the "strength of character" if really strong will see you through, the Physical aspects are the easiest to deal with, you can getter fitter in a few weeks, true mental strength is developed over years.
Everyone messes up a little, the way i see it, every "mess" is easily forgotten with each significant success :)

Yeah I've tried my best to get past that. That's why I left school because I messed up and gah it's just one of those things.
