I bought my own christmas present this year. A used miniDV camcorder.
Got a $50 gc to Home Depot, Lego Indiana Jones Wii, and a bucket full of candy.
My kids made a killing, two garbage bags full of clothes and toys.
Glad MM got a portable heater, looked like their house didn't have central heat.

I wasn't going to share this really but here is mainly why I hate xmas day and why today is always a sad day for me :(
I get presents only from my own mum, and from my husband's mum.
Okay p'haps it's because I'm a withdrawn type of person with no friends in the real world...
My mum's pretty well off so she gives me expensive stuff like perfume, china or antique stuff.
My husband's mum is poor, but she always gives us a box of good chocolates.
I end up envying the rest of my relatives, especially the boys.
They get hardware, computer games, money vouchers from the pc store.
No one gives that to me, I know my own mum would but I don't have the guts to show her in any manner that I'd be preferring a voucher rather than her own chosen gift. And I just can't sell the presents she gives me for that same reason, ie I don't want her to be visiting and asking me the whereabouts of her own gifts.... Yet she knows of my hobby but keeps insisting on giving me stuff which is worthless for me at the same time?
If I only could have a little tiny voucher even just enough to buy 1GB ddr2 ram I'd have been so much happier than anything I got.
Or perhaps I'd be better off praying I got born with a penis.
Sorry for the last sentence but tonight I ended up crying like the silly girl I am over this, and couldn't help it at all.... :( I can't help thinking that if I was a guy rather than a girl I'd have had a better Xmas day...

Cheer up Panther (toast) Christmas ain't about who gots the coolest gadget. I basically only received some pieces of paper and cardboard this christmas, yet I don't envy you guys who got some tech. I dunno maybe its because Christmas doesn't mean that much to me or because I rather gift myself. But I actually value the time spent with family and friends more than materialistic things.
Maybe send a wishlist to your mums, to steer her in the right direction. Oh, and if you need some DDR2, pm me for a belated Christmas gift(toast)

and what's that?
It's a White house Christmas Card.... From the White House..
Made By American Greetings with the Presidents and first ladies signature ( reproduced I'm sure)
Oddly I think the first Christmas Card from the first African American President will likely be a great collectible....
At least for me...
But i gotta stay married and wait for my mother in law to die....

I work for a company that makes medical imaging software, I don't fix MRI equipment. Close enough though :)
The work I do is completely unrelated to the gifts they give though.

Nope, we don't do MRI, the software uses CT scans and echos. I don't make the software either. I'm the only IT guy here who doesn't know how to use our own software :)
