So I had a bit of a mess with some stored oil and now my garage floor is covered with used motor oil. I cleaned most of it up with rags but it's really bad and needs to be addressed further.

So I got out the OxyClean and sprinkled half of the mess but not sure if it will work. Any other suggestions? I don't have any kitty litter or I would try that.

Get the kitty litter. Grind it thuroughly into the concrete with your feet, sweep up. Then use a degreaser to get what little there is left. OxyClean might work.

Yeah, go cheap, kitty litter, wood dust, those things will soak up the majority of it, after that just like erocker said, hit it with some degreaser. I know you don't have kitty litter, but really anything like I said wood dust or something fine and lots of it to soak that up with.

I'll go get some kitty litter, I'm going cheap though. Always Save brand from Aldi's.

Yeah no need to get anything expensive, I mean theres a reason kitty litter seems to be more commonly used than it's professional counterpart that companys make to do the job.

You can use gasoline too

CLR will work too.
But it does eat the lime in the concrete so it will leave a mark but it still looks better than the oil

Sure, maybe I should roll a barrel on it too? (nutkick)

OK for oil, but don'tus eit for everything. There's a reason oil-dry was invented. It's non-reactive, kitty litter is not. Certain types of kitty litter mixed with certain types of anti-freeze (iirc) actually catches fire.

Interesting, my dad used kitty liter in his autobody shop (shop also used by all the family of which my dad and uncle are mechanics) and I don't think anyone ever had an issue in 25 years, and I can't imagine how many types of antifreeze or other chemicals even beyond motor use, but painting chemicals. I'll have to check into that though.

Surprisingly enough the OxyClean worked rather well. I didn't have to scour it at all. Just let it set overnight and washed with water. Made sure it washed away from my drive way or that would be another mess to clean up.
