Tron Legacy

Some of you may not have been around to remember the Original Tron but it did create a lot of buzz for it's time. The story itself wasn't a original concept but the PC tech, special effects and action did appeal to many of it's day as a Sci-Fi movie.

Now after 28 years comes Tron Legacy will pickup where Tron left off. If you want to see Tron Legacy I suggest that you watch Tron to get an idea of what's going on in Tron Legacy. However keep in mind I believe you simply need the gist of Tron in order to get a grasp of Tron Legacy. But keep in mind that a few of the actors from Tron will return for Tron Legacy. This movie has a scheduled release for Dec 2010 and it may possibly out sell Star Trek.

Yeah I saw how it is a Daft Punk song on trailer 2. Well I hope they don't JUST use Daft Punk. I like Daft Punk but I don't think they have the range to do a movie score. We'll see.

Rumor has it they are redoing the Black Hole. And there is another Aliens coming as well. Anyway I would think that a trilogy of Blade Runner (before/after the rebellion) would be EPIC. But for now Tron Legacy will do...

There are a bunch of clips on the net of the daft punk soundtrack. AFAIK most of it will be by daft punk. Oddly enough, I wasn't impressed, as much as I like DaftPunk, but I guess that's just because there wasn't any screen action to connect it to. They definitely couldn't stand alone as only songs. Which is unfair, because most soundtracks can't. Only a few can, such as the Matrix (of the same genre) Lord of the Rings, and just about anything from Hanz Zimmer, and John Williams (obviously of a different genre.)

My friends and I saw it at it's midnight release in 3D, right after watching the first one at somebody's house. I was kind of pissed that I had to pay extra to watch it in 3D, but half of it wasn't in 3D at all and the other half made little use of the 3D.

I watched most of the original yesterday, it was pretty crappy, but I actually want to see this one. The visuals and soundtrack are great, the story seems a bit shit but Olivia Wilde is a lash so it makes up for it.

As for paying extra for 3D, it doesn't usually bother me as I get student discount so am essentially paying normal price but my student card expires this month :(

I saw the movie and the graphics were mind blowing but the storyline wasn't as strong

while i never saw the original, i liked the new one, even if the plot seemed to loose me sometimes, it did keep me entertained, or maybe because it is was on IMAX and in 3D
