President Obama on Thursday gave a thumbs-up to the framework of a plan to legalize illegal immigrants and create a flow of low-skilled foreign workers for the future, saying the bill being worked on by a Republican lawmaker and his Democrat counterpart is "promising."

cause socal is fully of yuppies, Arpaio does. They are either bussed or flown back to mexico. He also does sweeps looking for illegals and...well everything you might have seen in the news about him. Including when he invited Jesse Jackson down here to settle their differences. It's the only time I've seen Jesse Jackson speachless after an interview. It was poetic.


at any rate while he still runs I'll continue to vote for him. He seems to be one of the only sheriffs enforcing the laws on the books.

While those stats are interesting I have to say at this point they've let the problem go too far and simply fetting rid of them would likely Bankrupt LA county. (much like the south's economy tanked at the end of slavery).

but those in prison is a no excuse situation, the deportation proces is not that hard.

Four hundred deputies and volunteer posse members are taking part in the patrols. The sweep, which began Thursday, is Sheriff Joe Arpaio's 14th since early 2008.

During the sweeps, deputies flood an area of a city — in some cases heavily Latino areas — to seek out traffic violators and arrest other alleged lawbreakers.
