He's a dumbass going drinking with a prototype iPhone. Though I do like it, I'd like to have an iPhone but they're too expensive over here. The iPhone OS is smooth as butter.

im a mac hater so i'll probably never buy one myself, but that thing looks damn sexy. Much better IMO. Poor sap lost probably one of the most valuable things he's ever held in his hand. I hope they go easy on him (apple that is). And damn glad it got into the hands of someone who would look twice at it instead of just saying "hey look! a free iphone!." (read the story about how they lost it for the reference) if the drunk guy had slipped it into his pocket instead of handing it to the guy who eventually got it, we might never know, and apple might have never gotten thier prototype back.

I hate Apple too but you have to admit iPhones are pretty slick.

Eh, it was considered as stolen (perhaps to save face, perhaps it wasn't just 'found') and remotely killed by Apple within a day of the Gizmodo story hitting the air. The person who 'found' it would have just had a different than normal looking brick by day 2. It just goes to show you that Apple wasn't kidding when they said they have a kill switch for every iPhone and can flip it whenever.

Indeed, it was killed, but a person who didnt know anything about it would have tinkered with it for a few days maybe thinking the battery was dead, then either thrown it away or tried to hustle it on ebay or something. Would have been a total waste.

I like the letter from apple.I guess they wanted it back.I like how you can have your lost/stolen iphone turned into a lump of useless plastic too.

I bet when Apple releases their first Cyborg, it'll have the same kill switch.
