I was thinking that instead of having a tiered contest (1st, 2nd, 3rd) of having a multi-category one where the prizes are all the same with one winner per category.

For example, if it were a photo contest maybe have something like sports, animals and pr0n people. That's just an example. Photo contests are difficult.

Thoughts?

I'd prefer something that actually requires a small amount of skill. What about signatures or LPs (Large Projects)?

The only problem is that it's seems difficult to get people in on the easier contests, let alone something that make take them hours or days to complete.
I'm not offering up a lot for prizes. :/

I think we would all get banned for a contest like that.
I'm not saying it wouldn't be fun, just dangerous to our standing at GN. lol

I do, however, like the idea of revealing something (appropriate) with photoshop.
Could be quite comical.

Besides, I would like to make the next contest longer, have better prizes, and try to get a couple of people to help judge.

Sorry, just checked in...

There would be 2 threads:

One w/ rules and the items for the day or week
The other thread is where we submit our pictures or images


Basically, you would pick the item for the day/week (something slightly obscure maybe) and we would have to find and take a picture of it along w/ our username on paper or something and submit it to the other thread. Then you would approve or reject it.
You would pick multiple item over multiple weeks

Now maybe everyone doesn't have access to a camera or item and in that case you can also offer an alternate project like modifying an image of the item or something. I idea is if you don't take the pictures and submit them your project would be slightly harder and take longer.

That's what I was thinking, but you might have a better way to do it.
As I said, I'm up for anything!! :D

yes how fast you can grow a baseball sized white onion. soil differences is part of the challenge. you must include pics of the various stages.

I don't really need my eyeballs to bleed trying to figure out some of the entries that contain no punctuation, and making good writing skills a requirement would remove many people. (no offense anyone).

Okay, I have an idea for an intermin contest.
I will post it in a bit, but it will be a really "for fun" contest and not a great payoff.

I'm not against a LP contest, Rev, it just needs to be organized and supported so that the prize if worth the effort.

Pssh I'd do it without a prize. I spent lots of time on those with no return but an improvement in skill. Granted some others may need some incentive.

Please note that if you contribute you will become inelidgable for a prize, but you get to enjoy the fun of helping out.

Also, if you do not plan on participating in a contest and would like to help judge, the same thing applies. I could use a little help here as it's dang hard with some of the great entries the people supply.

just an fyi. im actually quite good at wrighting. im self taught KB. I never took the time to do punctuation. I type fast and when i need to use punctuation it grinds me to a hault. But I can type if I take the time. Its not like i dont know were commas go. I just casually skip by them fopr the sake of posting fast.
