First heard them last night and i think they fucking rock. I love it.

Those two bands basically cover the whole genre.

They have two albums, 2008 Morgans Revenge and 2009 Black Sails at Midnight, so kind of expecting another one this year.

They are from Scotland and the front man can speak fluent German (see song Weiber und Wein)


Also you can look up Running Wild, they have a pirateish album called Death or Glory.

Other niche genres include Troll metal (Finntroll) and Viking Metal (Amon Amarth). Also Battle Metal (Turisas)

I don't have Morgans revenge but I have Leviathan and they made 2 CD's as battleheart, terror on the high seas and battlheart. Battleheart is a full length album, the others are singles/EPs.

I actually heard Under Jolly Rodger after i heard Captain Morgans Revenge last night and was like "fuck yea" \m/

Idk why i like it so much. It actually made me pick the guitar up and learn Captain Morgans Revenge.

Maybe its cause i liked the Pirates of the Caribbean movies so much.
