Love it! :) In fact, I asked for that for my birthday. Dinner was chicken enchiladas.
The next day, leftover sausage gravy on grill cheese (wife baked the bread):

I'd been planning on doing it for a while but I had blood tests done a little up the road from there. I saw it was quiet, being the middle of a weekday and having recently snowed, so I pulled in and drove around the old part of the cemetery. All of my immediate family is buried there but they're at the opposite end.
Also I've been thinking of volunteering for the program called 'find a grave'. People put in requests for specific grave markers, for genealogy purposes I assume, and someone local goes out, takes the pic and posts it. I soon realized though just how overwhelming it can be with so many graves and with so many being difficult to read because after a 100 years of acid raid the marble has disintegrated so badly.
I think I would like to go there and photograph them with a better camera like my T1i and just go row by row. Then I could post them on my own website with captions. But even that is a huge task that I'm probably not ready for.

It's pretty sweet, but The Park is filled with tons of people, mostly of the type you wouldn't want to hang out with, and with tons of people comes tons of rules. It sure is pretty, though, and is worth seeing.
Let me know if you do come up, I can point you to some places that are just as nice, but you can take a gun, have a dog that's not on a leash, scrub with Ivory soap in the creeks (cricks) and have a blast.

12-05-2011, 06:48 PM
It is but a minor station in a region that is emptying itself a little. In addition, it was Monday morning at like 9 or 10 a.m. so any commuter needing to go to work had already departed. I did not have any lectures that day so I decided to travel from my parents' home to my student room after the morning rush hours (not because of traffic in that region necessarily, but a few km northward in a busier area it would have mattered more). And let's be lucky that I travelled on Monday that one time, instead of during the evening before (I usually leave my parents' place at Sunday after dinner), because someone threw oneself in front of a train so railway traffic was impossible in almost the entire province. The latter is another reason why the EU should become a federation, because then it is more likely that one can make a detour by going "interstate" (travelling partly via Belgium or Germany) instead of being stuck in Limburg if the main railway track of that province is shut off.
No I could not go by car because my parent's vehicle would have been required to make quite a distance. But letś see the fortunate aspect of this and enjoy the else-not-made photos. :)
twilyth
12-05-2011, 07:03 PM
I'm not sure what a federation would be like, but here, you still have to change trains if you go from one state to another on a state sponsored commuter line. For me, that's going from NJTransit to SEPTA in Philly. AFAIK, only the federally subsidized slAmtrak trains go interstate.
Chevalr1c
12-05-2011, 07:54 PM
Yet, the railways would probably get connected better in regions were currently only borders prevent the connection of tracks. I know it is already done in the region in which the pics were taken, or at least there is a connection between the main station of Heerlen and the German town of Aachen (the Euregiobahn) If this is elaborated on (if that's a word) by improving and increasing connections, then it might be easier for railway services to be relayed in case of calamities.
I might be less realistic with this, however.

MFer that's a foxbody mustang!
It could do without the wing and hoodscoop.

Wouldn't be smart to cook in that area so I assume smoking.
It was hueg. I have some photos of it after the fire department got there on my phone, it kept dying so I didn't get any good ones I don't think. And no microSD card to transfer anyway.

1. I used to go to shops in the village (greenwich, nyc) all of the time. Law school was in Newark so when I would go to Penn sta., I would just hop on the PATH to 9th street. I still have a cheap soapstone pipe I bought and a power hitter.
2. I don't know shit - you know that.
3. Hmmm. Could email to yosef? Not a big deal. Just nosy.

Close enough if you're target is the 8 meter band.

Yeah I don't have any of the formulas....but this picks up ATC better than the 6" rubber duck antenna.
And duct tape sucks, it keeps falling.
We have like a 15 foot long antenna for 10m? in the garage, I should try that :D
Used to have a bigger one but it was too long to fit in the moving truck.

Antenna design is a black art. But for a simple wire antenna, generally you want a length of wire is about 1/4 the wavelength you want to capture. Although in practice, pretty much any long wire seems to work.

Yes, it's a vine that grows on other trees and it came down with a rotten apple tree in a storm. My neighbor doesn't intend to clean it up and neither do i.

Took these at the cannabis march here in Dublin last Saturday. It'll most likely never be legalized in Ireland because it's an ignorant country and people are against something just because they don't like it, regardless the march was a bit of fun. It's not everyday you get to smoke weed next to the police while marching down the busiest streets of Dublin with a crowd of several hundred people, then everyone sitting down on the busiest bridge in the city and lighting up.

Well don't worry, you're in company. It's not much better here.
It's only about money and lobbying now

Yep. Chevelle SS.
And it's very nice. The only thing I would change is the wheels. It needs something with a dish/lip.

I prefer the low profiles for a street car. Better handling and can fit bigger brakes. Now, for drag racing, not so useful. lol.
