Best noise canceling earbuds under $75

Just as the title says. I'm looking to replace me Bose earbuds. The ONLY reason I'm replacing them is for noise canceling. The sound quality of the Bose are excellent. I just get annoyed that I can't block out everything around me without turning the volume up. I need a pair that is good across the board, with solid highs and lows, with good but not overwhelming bass. Thoughts?

I used to have a pair of JayJays that were pretty good, but felt the base on them was a little weak. I now have a new pair of V-moda Vibes, and they are still the best in-ears i've ever had.

In fact I think I bought my first pair from you.

I have a pair of Sennheiser CX 300 II's they produce great sound and bass.

The only thing is there noise isolating ones in truth they do a good job at blocking out noise but you can hear stuff.

Yup, you bought those V-moda's from me. I'm looking for something slightly better than the vmoda at handling highs.

Yes. they do need to be noise canceling. The Bose in ear that I have right now are the best non canceling buds I've ever heard, but I really need to be able to silence the outside environment.

I added links to some of the ear buds I'm considering to the OP. Anyone with experience with any of these?

Stay away from Skullcandy, the build quality isn't on par with the likes of Bose or Sennheiser, mine broke after a year and the sound quality is so-so, the bass is a bit much on them.

Agreed, cheap and mass produced is always the feel I get from them.

As for the other choices, I have no input other than flip a coin.

I bought the Audio-Techica. They seemed to be the best "bang for buck", and I have yet to hear a negative about them. :D

those aren't noise canceling - neither are the Shures

True. I guess I wanted the best pair of noise isolating or canceling. In my price range, sound quality seems to suffer with true canceling. I just needed to be able to shut out the outside environment more than I could with the Bose. I paid close attention to the reviews. All of these buds seemed to do a good job of this. In addition, the AT's seem to create the best "sound stage" of any of the buds under $90 or so.

Please let us know how you like them. As a carpenter, some days I wear my in ears 8+ hours a day. Noise isolation is a must for me, because they act as ear plugs as well as entertainment. I have a $50 pair of Sonys that are about to bite the dust. Buds can only take so much fine sawdust and abuse before they are ready for the trash.

I liked the Sonys because they had better sound than the cheap ones already mentioned, and did a good job of blocking out the world. I have been startled countless times by home owners and sub contractors: "Jesus! Sorry, I didn't know you were there!" For me, that is a good thing.

I'm always looking for something better.

That's what I have. Everything is super accurate, but a little light on bass. You hear things with these that you didn't know the music had.

Forewarning, good headphones actually make low bitrate music sound worse. You hear the artifacts better.

It's funny. I read some reviews on the RE0 right after I ordered the AT's. Then I saw a couple of reviews that put the AT's damn close to the RE0's in terms of performance. Highs are clearer on the RE0's with the bass better on the AT's. I may end up picking up the RE0's to compare them.
