I found it at amazon for 60 dollars new, but it is really old.

I bought mine at a flee market for 15 dollars maybe 9 years ago now. They had no idea what it was, and neather did I. I bought it on the fly just to see what they hell it was. I have to say I love it to death nothing is like it I have ever seen.

It brings out sounds in movies that you could never hear before, and it can bring out sounds in music to mimic hi-def systems.

If I had to do it again I would pay the 60 dollars tho WELL worth it.

They sound like shit. This just tells me you like gimmicky sound, not accurate sound.

i would say it lets u hear the real sounds, not gimic sounds so to say.

thinga like the leaves moving in the trees that you normally couldnt hear before.

I remember that company well. I really like what they did for small speakers though. They did make little boombox type things and tiny tv speakers sound acceptable. These computer speakers I had used that stuff. I also had it on my creative sound card from back in the day. I got some software that made windows media player 6.4 sound much better. This was back before flac and we had dial up internet access so high bitrate media was not an option. This made me so happy then. I also liked what companies like Qsound did.


I still use sound processing (SRS Wow in WMP and CMSS 3d in my creative sound card's control panel) now to make headphones sound better and to make my lower bitrate files (some are NOT available any other way) sound more fuller. Plus it helps with my room's wonky acoustics since we have a window that has baaaad lack of seal we plan on fixing soon.

I know wile_e is gonna preach about using good sources, however some of those aren't available and you gotta compensate and plus....

I use it like spices. I like my food full and spicy. I use EQs and DSPs to make my trance music come more alive. it mgiht not be good or all that great for rock or acoustic music, but for my type of music it really makes it come alive.

Anytime you process the sound you're detracting from the quality. That being said not everyone enjoys a clean neutral sound.

Personally i find once you get some really high bit rate music going on a high end system there is no going back. Everything else will sound like crap by comparison because you have a really high point of reference.

Plus who wants to have one album take up and entire gig on thier hard drives. I know drives are getting cheaper, however having to keep buying more and more is a pain to mess with. I would rather have more music on my computer in the same drive space.


for portables:

If I had my 8GB fuze all in flac I would only be able to have like 6-18 hours of music (longer trance albums that are often 2 or 3cd sets) on it vs like 200 some!

Also battery life is better on files that are 128-192Kpbs the battery life gets worse for higher bitrate files. at least on my fuze. Had all my files on ether 320 or 192 and the life was 11-14 hours (half volume custom EQ engaged) and I am getting 22 Hours on 160Kbps. and I get 26-28 with 128Kpbs files! (Note:screen brightness is turned down to 20%)

I'm not saying to put a whole bunch of high bit rate loss-less audio onto your portable players.

Was just saying that there is no replacement as far as quality goes when it comes down to high quality recordings (which as a rule of thumb are around 700mb per 80 minutes, or more if the audio contains more than 2 channels). Any form of processing is really only diluting the information that's already there.

As i said before sound preferences do come into play when it comes to do processing after the fact. I see it as being similar to hiding behind bass to make up for the weaknesses that could normally be heard in a set of speakers. The problem doesn't go away, you just mask it in a way which you prefer to hear.

I would say a better amp and set of speakers would do you more good than a spatializer. I've heard all kinds of spatializers. They take away accuracy. They are only good for shit files and recordings.
