Stafon Johnson: Even though I'm not really following American football I actually heard of him when he was still with USC - during the weights accident that almost choked him to death, then I read just now that he got a dislocated ankle. There's unlucky with injuries, and there's UNLUCKY with injuries. Hope he recovers quickly with that too.
And that hope isn't misplaced since a former Arsenal player, Eduardo (now with Shaktar Donetsk) also got a dislocated ankle (you can youtube it still I think, but let's just say that you can see something white that you don't normally see) that ruled him out of the season, specifically from February to November, or 10 months. Yet he quickly recovered, and was fully fit by late September, made more appearances in October as well. Got some minor injuries afterwards though that hampered his impact, and during his appearances you can see that the pre-ankle injury Eduardo was different from the one afterwards.
Well I think this could serve as a discussion thread for the injuries on players you usually watch, or on yourself when you play sports. My "worst" injury is a dislocated thumb. It's still dislocated after almost 4 years, haven't checked with a specialist. It rarely hurts, but you can see the ligament/tendon on my left thumb isn't in the mirror position of the ligament/tendon on the right thumb.

My worst two sports injuries came a while back. The first one, I was 14, in Judo and during practice a guy weighing 190lbs got flipped and landed on my middle toe, breaking it.
The second one was FAR worse than the broken toe. I was playing tennis and a ball got lobbed over my head. I sprinted to the back of the court to get it, which I didn't by the way, and smacked hip first into a steel pole that was keeping the wind screens up. I bruised the bone and spiked the nerve. I couldn't walk for two days after that.

Baseball players are the worst at getting major injuries while doing random things. One guy blew out his knee carrying his groceries up the stairs.

Footballers (Soccer players) get injuries, broken legs, and a lot of muscle problems. Also knee ligaments, a lot of them have to be fixed.

American Football has to be the worst at getting injuries due to stupidity. Like Ben Roethlisberger breaking his jaw because he decide to not only ride a Hayabusa without a helmet, but also to pull out in front of a car.

No, most of the Steelers are pretty cool, actually. I've met a bunch of them. He, himself, is a ginormous prick tho. At the very top of the douche nozzle scale, with such greats as Terrel Owens. At the dead opposite of the douche nozzle scale lies Hines Ward. He's a really cool guy.

I live in "Steeler Country", and I disagree. Most of the fans are not pricks, they are idiots. Different problem altogether. lol.

First injury ever playing football (soccer) occurred a while ago. Pulled hamstring, although it doesn't hurt that much now.

hmmmm, I dont remember having a 'worst injury' Ive scraped/grazed my knees n sprained about everything hundreds of times but thats as close to 'serious' as it gets. my high school was fairly athletic, they played many sports n i have never been 'injured' enough to put me out of a game. we did it all - most 'athletic' sports - high jump, tripple jump, discus, Javlin throwing, shot putt, 100m+ relays. then the usual, football, rugby, basketball, tennis, badminton, rounders, cricket, cross country running etc etc. my highschool had a big emphasis on sports.

But
if it helps....I once roundhouse kicked a fellow student in the side of the head in a friendly sparing match with so much force he was knocked to the ground n bleeding out of his ear as soon as the sensei said go
I was penalised/punished for it. but it was truely an accident - I thought he was better then that. as we were the same belt but I was going to jump purple n go straght to Brown stripe 1 or stripe 2.
not something im proud of but some niggas need to learn to move around a bit more.
Needless to say i was never called up to fight someone quite a bit shorter then me again.
