Michelle Obama thinks being America’s First Lady is ‘hell’, Carla Bruni reveals today in a wildly indiscreet book.

Miss Bruni divulges that Mrs Obama replied when asked about her position as the U.S. president’s wife: ‘Don’t ask! It’s hell. I can’t stand it!’

Details of the private conversation, which took place at the White House during an official visit by Nicolas Sarkozy last March, emerged in Carla And The Ambitious.

The book was written by journalists Michael Darmon and Yves Derai in what they claim is collaboration with Miss Bruni.

Described by one of the French authors as 'Carla in her own words,' she portrays herself as demanding, spoilt, and selfish.

She also gives extraordinary insight into her life as the wife of a leader - and her relationship with some of the most prominent figures in the world, including the American president.

'On the advice of the Obamas,' she says, 'We don't read the papers in the morning any more.'

I don't blame her in a ways.....Just think of how much she is DRILLED no matter what she does. To a garden she planted....to what she was wearing after the oil spill....and then drilling her about a vacation(Where she has no choice in having protection with her).

Of course she doesn't like it. "Lady"--that title just doesn't...suit...her. I can't say President really suits Obama either. Neither have that Presidential composure--the natural intuition for leadership which only comes about through experience.

he White House says that as a policy, official trips by the first family are paid by the government but all personal elements paid are personally. Since this is a private trip, the White House seems to be suggesting that the Obamas are personally paying all costs associated with the vacation.

Yup, the secret service must accompany the First Lady and President almost all the time. Preperations to travel abroad often take months (secret service goes to the locations months in advance to secure everything, bring motorcade vehicles, etc.).

I think they really should cut back on travelling and save the tax payers a lot of money. Obama especially with his campaigning. XD


BTW, the secret service was originally an anti-counterfeiting organization. It wasn't until much later that protection became part of their duties.

Then of course there are the clothes, the other two look up to date with their fashion, michelle doesn't.
