Since it's no longer a crime in Ohio Ive been fairly open about it lately...
It's only a crime to have a device used to smoke it...LOL...well in public, not in your home..that's fine

But the substance itself is fine to have on you... You actually have to have more than a half ounce on you before they can fine you as long as your 21 or older. and have it in 1 package as multiple is intent to sell.

If they catch you with more than a half ounce up to 3.5 ounce it's a $150 fine and they let you keep it LOL

Unless your under the influence at the time..at which point the cops would probably take it and smoke it themselves...

Here's the deal my pothead brothers. In 2009 a research scientist developed some Cannabinoid Agonists. JWH-180 and JWH-250. Now these are what you will find in the little 1 gram vials or pouches of "incense" sold every fucking where. JWH-180 is currently banned in about 8 states. But they have not caught on to the 250 yet and it rocks the mother fucking Casbah.

In a pipe the first blast is harsh. I think that's the active ingredient vaping off the plant material. The flavor of the Cherry is not bad. There is that plant material smell to the exhale...instead of the resinous smell you get off pot. But that also means less tar in your lungs...the taste is okay. I am not big on Cherry flavor stuff...but this tastes like the fruit, not Cherry Soda or something..it's mild. It works best in a pipe. I tried mixing it with tobacco and it's not quite like mixing weed with tobacco. I actually enjoy that resinous taste of good Pot...these herbs are dry and don't have that same hashy taste. But the effect is undeniable. Either way it'll get you so high you might forget to wipe your ass. And it's the $100 a bag weed high...not like the K2 which was an anxious, hyper kind of "am I high the way I expected to be high?" high. Hi:)

The high off the Sonic is smiley, laughing, pain-killing, cerebral. Not psychedelic, not sleepy, but uplifting. the kind of buzz that makes you want to get up and boogey. It's very strong and lasts a long time.

I'm worried about that too. Considering I can huff down a gram per day without batting an eye...the long term effects of sucking up some untested chemical does make me a little sketched out by the whole thing.

Sucks that it has the 180 in it. That's the stuff with the Naphtha ring chemical formulation. I was kind of hoping it was something else.

It is tested...The chemical was made for Government testing for pot. More or less a way around the system for Dr. to be able to test the side effects of pot without having pot.
It's what makes it stronger than normal pot, because the best of the best pot only is 24%Thc.
Your smoking it on herbs that have been smoked for hundreds of years....

I'm not too worried about the herbs because about 20 years ago I had a selection of over two dozen smokable herbs that I used to concoct mixtures which I tested on myself over the course of a year. In the end I determined that no combination of these herbs would make me high :D But they did have some subtle effects.

Exactly. You got ripped like it was the first time you ever smoked than you get ripped then you get high then you smoke more and get the same high then you smoke a lot more and get the same high. However about a 3 day clean out seems to restore the receptors to their normal state.

What I think is happening is that it's pounding just one area of you CB receptors. MJ pounds a variety of areas because MJ is never pure THC...it's CDN and a host of other partially metabolized agonists that tickle your receptors and seem to keep them from down tuning.

The way around this is to use more than one RC (research chemical).

With JWH 018 so well known it's getting banned new chemical compounds are being used like the ones in this Research Paper (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2262798/) written by the chemist who synthesized them.

Once dosage and synergistic effects are better understood a proper "cocktail" of RCs would probably mimic MJ in the way it effects the CB receptors and ameliorate the the tachyplacatic effect.

Tell you what MAD respect to the crafters of Sonic Boom when it comes to getting the substrate of herbs right. OMG I've been taste-testing some Damiana and some Mullein and it's like smoking leaves right out of a burning leaf pile. That same astringent woody smoke you expect from burning a Maple leaf or something (is that legal in Canada?).

So I took some Vodka and honey and vanilla to see if that would make it taste better...still drying so no idea.

I guess there are many many grades of botanicals, ranging from trash/tea-grade to hand picked edible or smoking grade. I dunno. I'm gonna find out though. Because so far it tastes pretty harsh. And it looks like Shwag.

This afternoon I crafted some spice and it's just right. Not too harsh, not overpowering. But it creeps up on ya. I enjoy smoking so I wanted to have something about like good buds...

I used a mix of Marhsmallow Leaf and Damiana flavored with Peppermint oil. Next up I'm going to infuse some of those "Legal Buds" sold by International Oddites.

It's great being baked legally.

I'm choosing herbs that are actually beneficial to my system and non toxic flavors.

The actual active ingredient seems better for me too. Pot makes me tired after a while. And bleery-eyed. And if I overdo it the next day I feel a bit hung over and find myself waking up to a phlegm in my lungs.

Not the case with the Spice mix. If it's the right strength you don't get "wasted" you get a useful buzz. Ya know how some pot makes you veg and some pot makes you get up and clean the house?

Generally speaking as far as health goes, the most damaging part about pot is probably the inhalation of superheated gases which will cause cancer.

It really doesn't matter what you're smoking from that aspect.

Oh that's definitely higher than I would want to pay. Looks yummy though.

Something like 400 different gases in combusted marijuana. Many of them have been found carcinogenic. Vaping the material eliminates that risk. But it also eliminates that taste and aroma and it's a different high altogether. Vapiing equipment has gotten much better (as posted by DaMulta earlier) but it's still 5 times what someone would pay for a simple waterpipe ($20).

I think suspending the active ingredient in PEG and vaping it using an e-cig apparatus is the way to go. However there is no documented research about how long something like JWH-018 remains stable in vitro. It oxidizes rapidly. It can be dissolved in EToH or Acetone or DMSO. I am not wanting to vape any of those solvents. So the next link in the puzzle is the process of going from EToH (Everclear) to PEG (Polyethylene Glycol).

It might be as simple as dumping the EToH right into some PEG and Bob's Your Uncle. I have no idea.

Bro...I hope you aren't thinking the Damiana had that effect on you.(slap) It's the chemical the Damiana is infused with. Most likely JWH-073 which is the "couch-lock" type of CB agonist compared to the JWH-018 which is more like the "trippy, anxious" CB agonist, or any of a half dozen other research chemicals that are still legal.

I have some untreated Damiana and the effect is so subtle you'd have to be straight to notice it and it's not at all like weed. It does have a very slight effect though, mainly seems to make me horny :D. And it can be addictive just like nicotine. The Damiana that is.

Check eBay for "Herbal Spice Incense" and you'll find hundreds of listings. Damiana is the prime base for the chemical. It's mild, burns well, looks like pot, and is fuzzy so it holds the chemical crystals nicely.

Just saying. They can make it with dried cabbage and it'll get you high. It costs less than a dollar a gram to make the stuff, so these guys getting $15 and $20 a gram are laughing all the way to the bank.

For my lab rats I treat the herbs with Honey and Vanilla using a small quantity of hot water. Then I infuse the herbs with the appropriate additive and some pure peppermint oil. The treatment slows down the burn and removes the "burning leaf pile" smell and flavor. The rats like it.

Keeping the stuff semi moist is easy. Put an orange peel or a slice of apple in the container to revive the material. The additive is not water soluble, so adding a little moisture will not effect it, just the burn rate, flavor, etc.

@SK-1 I'm concerned about chronic smoking of a research chemical too. I researched it and continue to research it. So far it appears to be less harmful than marijuana mainly due to the lack of complex hydrocarbons that break down into furans and polyaromatic hydrocarbons when they burn. As noted somewhere above MJ smoke has vinyl chlorides and some 400 other compounds...but somehow we've survived it for decades :D

The herb Damiana has been smoked and used in tinctures and herbals since before written history. I've noted no lung issues, no phlegm or coughing associated with the smoking of Damiana. Marshmallow leaf is a newer smoking herb, and other than a woody taste and smell it seems to be mild and easy on the lungs.

So the substrate is basically harmless...obviously inhaling any kind of smoke is not healthy, but compared to tobacco or Marijuana it does have less tar, containing almost no plant resin.

The actual research chemical, JHW-018 was never "designed" to be smoked. All reports I have read on it suggest "in vitro" tests using cloned or harvested live cells and looking for metabolites using gas chromatographic spectrometry to identify the changes. The researcher was mainly interested in developing a CB agonist that has a high Ki affiliation with the CB2 receptor. JWH-018 showed an impartial affiliation to the CB2 receptor and a high ki toward the CB1 receptor. In vitro analysis showed that JWH-018 shrank non-melanoma cancers. Test with lab rats (real ones lol) were done by injecting the RC in a precise body-weight ratio. The RC proved to have very low toxicity. The only deaths reported were from extremely high doses that caused some male rats to fall asleep and stop breathing. Rabbits showed no proclivity toward asphyxiation from low respiratory rate.

Apparently burning the RC does change it's chemical arrangement to some degree. A great deal more is required to achieve the same effect compared to oral ingestion. according to reports from users it can be vaporized, and this is likely the purpose of the substrate...to control the burn temperature to promote proper vaporization. However the exact chemical compound being ingested is unknown.

It's cheap, it's legal, and people are going to use it. Luckily it seems to be fairly harmless.

The JWH series they used at first was (far as anyone has been able to determine) relatively harmless...a Napthaloid ring with some hydrogens hanging off it. But the other types that are not yet scheduled have Flourine as a base. If you check out Drug-Forum people describe the taste of AM-2201 and Win-55 among others as hard to stomach...so loading the substrate with a cover-flavor/aroma is probably the only way anyone would smoke it more than once.

That's a valid concern. They are completely untested research chemicals made for in vitro testing of CB receptor binding. They were never designed to be ingested let alone burned. There is really no telling what is released from a compound once it is burned.

For myself I found it was an interesting novelty. But I am no longer keen on ingesting the "Spice" because the people making do not give a fuck if it's toxic or not. They are not chemists, or even researchers, they are straight up profiteers cashing in on the fact the shit costs about $1 a gram to make and people will pay $5-$20 per gram. In fact the greed of these spice merchants is exactly why the DEA is cracking down. The Spice Makers think they can just substitute something else that gets you high...but if that was the ideal RC to use then why was it not used in the first place? I just don't like vaping. I tried it a few times at my buddies house. He's had two different types. Both of them are a PITA. You just about hyperventilate to get the thing drawing properly, and then it does not taste or smell like pot...which to me is one of the great pleasures of smoking the weed...the smell and taste...and the high is not the same either.

i used 3 250watt florescents for growing but im having troubles with these damn flowering bulbs. im not sure they are enough. i dont want to buy a damn expensive HPS setup, im just using full spectrum bulbs i found at walmart. 9x65watts.

LED lighting is low heat, low power draw, but EXPENSIVE to buy or even to build yourself.

If your growing space is in complete darkness and you cycle the lights 12 hours on 12 hours off the plants will bud no matter how shitty the light source. But if you want good buds you'll need good light. Whiter light for growth, Redder light to bud.

Since you have the nutrient automated you need to taper from Nitrogen rich to Phosphorous rich to support the budding. Nitrogen encourages planty growth, Phosphorous encourages fruiting and flowering.

my setup is in a closet but its inside its own "box" i built out of plywood.

i have my lights set to 12h on 12h off right now, just switched over from 18h on 6 off.

i have 2 pelko 180mm fans, one intake, one exhaust to keep airflow moving. both in and out have filters and the inlet has a plenum to push the air towards the plants.

i have a hydroponic system setup with an old pond pump tubed up to a copper watering setup i fabbed. water runs for 1min, 3times daily and fills the tray the plants are in. im using clay beads for "soil" but the plant are growing in medium sized rockwool grow cubes.

i use a humidifier to keep humidity up around 60-80% and temps between 75f - 85f.

I did a fair amount of research online a while back and concluded that LED lights from eBay are not going to work. Not enough light output. Real LED grow lights are massive and need heat sinks to suck heat off the LED elements and active cooling on the sink. a 4 x 5 is around $1600. Just google LED Grow Lights. Less expensive options might be to use a proper HPS but with a digital ballast. LEDs will keep the space a lot cooler, that's obvious, but the money it will take to get going is ridiculous. Even a low end 136 watt light is close to $500. With proper ventilation HPS is more cost effective, if you use an efficient ballast (digital).

For the Flowering stage Aquarium lights work great...Specially the ones that state they are good for under water plant life

Fits those lights you have will work out just fine....You just have to position them right....I didn't get any pics but I was over a friends house and he is using those 13w (65w equivalent) 6500k lights and he has em set in groups of 3 around each plant 6 inches above them......He's been able to grow a lot of herbs that are fairly good

I think your gonna need more room.....my single plant right now is 26 inches wide...I don't use the 20" system which is what most people use...
I learned a lot from this site (http://www.weedsthatplease.com/growindoors.htm) they have a great 20" system that does workout just fine but I prefer the taste and smoke that you can only get from a more mature plant.
EDIT: I should clarify that a bit...the 20" system is when your plant shows signs of sexing and reaches 20" in height...I see that it may have seemed as though I was referring to 20" width..

The amount of money you would spend on wattage (real not equivalent) it actually works out to be more expensive to go with CFL than HPS. Also you can use the HPS during vegitative stage (while many growers go from Metal Halide to HPS, actually you can get great results from HPS the whole way through).

You can get a nice 400w ballast and bulb for under 200 USD. Buds will be better and more dense than from CFL lighting mainly due to lumens and light penetration.

I actually did a side by side comparison of CFL and HPS a few years ago. While the results from the CFL were not bad, HPS blows them out of the water.

You should try Uncle Bens Topping Tek: Wait until they grow to about the 5th or 6th node then top them at the second node. I did this with my clone momma and she now has 3 tops (had 4 but one got used in cloning).

i use a humidifier to keep humidity up around 60-80% and temps between 75f - 85f.

For flowering you have your humidity way too high. You should be in the 45-50% RH range, and even less during the last 3 weeks (lower humidity will stimulate the plant to produce more resins and oils).

the pollen is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO thick in here. you can see it in the light like dust from a gravel road.

we feel SUPER SPACED out 24/7.

If you got pollen then look for the little balls on your plants and gently cut the lower stem and get it out of there in a hurry.

My baby came out if the ground today!

Out of about a pound and a half of nug one seed was found, and that one seed was planted!!!!!
