What is this thread about? Somebody buying old parts for a mac or someone talking about the tea parties?

Yeah, someone bought old, slow memory for a Mac and is a little over joyous over the matter. I think I am missing something.

"tea party" isn't that the game little girls play with dolls?

jk.

Why bitch at the Federal Government for the additional taxes the State Administration imposes?

btarunr, people are pissed off about far, FAR more than the stupid newegg tax. Who would start a revolution over tax from a specific online vendor (which only falls under Tennesee and New York law IIRC) alone?

I think the surcharge on NY was lifted. Newegg announced that sometime last year.

Share the blame. Bring back your factories, and your jobs. That's a more productive "revolution" than taking to the streets. You only end up damaging public property.

Newegg has a warehouse in Tennessee so they are licensed to conduct business in the State of Tennessee which in turn means that the State of Tennessee can collect taxes on said business.

New York passed laws that levees a tax on all Internet commerce. If you live in New York and buy something online, it will be taxed regardless if the business is licensed to conduct business there or not.

If only it were that easy. I am not the one who established manufacturing plants in China, and even though as much as I'd like to, I can't just snap my fingers and bring everything back, or else you can safely bet your action underpants department that I would in a heartbeat.

Can you make a difference? Maybe not, at a micro-level. But that's an excuse. If you want a better America, think about what you can do to change it, be the change. Climb the political ladder, resist corruption, and bring about the change you want.

Even if you think you shouldn't have to be a superhero so the rest of the "lazier" America enjoys a better country at your expense, you can be part of the change. If you ever start a company, manufacture in the US, hire Americans. Initially it would be stupidity to let go of higher margins manufacturing abroad, and outsourcing jobs, but history has shown that the quality of labor is higher in America when it's fighting economic and social illness. The momentum American manufacturing sector gathered from WWII went on to accelerate its economy for decades after the war.

The overjoyed way it was done, the all caps, the tea party, just everything makes it wrong.
