Then you never listened to them. A properly mastered SACD or DVD-A absolutely SHAMES vinyl. More frequency response, less noise, a fuckload more dynamic range, better S/N, etc., etc. And no, properly mastered digital does not have compression. Compression is done after the fact by shitty studios.

Vinyl is actually LESS capable as a medium than even CDs. It's just that most CDs are compressed to shit and back, and poorly mastered. Most vinyl dates before the loudness wars, and therefore doesn't suffer from shit mixing and mastering. That's why they sound better, not because of the medium.

Listen to early CDs that came before the loundness wars, and they outperform their vinyl counterpart in every metric. A prime example would be the original CD releases of Led Zeppelin vs the vinyl. They used the unaltered masters for the original CDs, and they blow my vinyl versions away. It wasn't until they were rereleased "remastered" that they started sounding like shit.

Again, I love vinyl. It's sound is a preference to many. But it is inferior to CD on a technical abilities level. The difference you hear are differences in mastering and mixing to cater to peoples' preformed perceptions, not differences caused by the medium itself. CD is more accurate in every way. Most these days just suffer from excessive dynamic compression (AKA: Loudness) because that's what the bean counters want.

And aside from that, We were speaking of DVDA and SACD, which is way superior than even CD. DVDA and SACD rarely EVER suffer from that poor mixing and mastering because they cater specifically to audiophiles.

Listen to a lossless 16bit 44.1k sample rate rip of a vinyl done on good equipment. Bet you can't hear the difference. Our minds and ears are incapable of discerning the difference. In the event you can (you can't), try it again in 96 or 192k 24bit (used in most DVDA). Nobody has ever told the difference in double blind testing.

Those three are my fav female vocalists along with Sharon from WT and Tarja from NW (both metal but have some trance x-overs).... I also admire Linda from Milk Inc. Lina Rafn (Infernal) in Silent Heart song's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_tCJUHJuWU) vocals are amazing!!! (no preview links for the wippenburg remix though sadly... that version is the best!!!!)

Also Future Trance and Dream Dance and Trance Voices are the holy trinity of Electronica music. Too bad Trance Voices hasn't had a new release since 2010 :-( I loooove that one. So Tunnel Trance Force has kinda filled in....

Those albums are the biggest and often the best sampling... I do admit FT had a bit of a slump and vol 53, 50, 45 and some of the selections on some of the teens weren't so good..... However that series on a whole is nice...

They have picked back up and have done a very good job with the 57,58,59,60 tracks...

Dream Dance had a kinda the same issues as well....

People say that Tunnel is more consistant, however the albums must be listened as a mix and most of the songs are too short for standalone listening. Also the beats are more repetitive and it doesn't go as epic as FT's songs do.... they are more lower profile trance songs while FT goes more epic with certain songs like Nostra Terra (Can We Turn It Around) (vol 60) Pure Energy 2012 (vol 58) Opera by Matt's Mattara (vol 58) Salva Mea (vol 56), Peaktime Symphony (vol 46) The Black Pearl (vol 46) La Isla Bonita (backslash vs mikkas rmx) (vol 45) and a few others....

and Silvy from Sylver and Kirsty Hawkshaw and Justine Suissa's vocals are not cheesy! Those three are my fav female vocalists along with Sharon from WT and Tarja from NW (both metal but have some trance x-overs).... I also admire Linda from Milk Inc. Lina Rafn (Infernal) in Silent Heart song's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_tCJUHJuWU) vocals are amazing!!! (no preview links for the wippenburg remix though sadly... that version is the best!!!!)

Also Future Trance and Dream Dance and Trance Voices are the holy trinity of Electronica music. Too bad Trance Voices hasn't had a new release since 2010 :-( I loooove that one. So Tunnel Trance Force has kinda filled in....

Those albums are the biggest and often the best sampling... I do admit FT had a bit of a slump and vol 53, 50, 45 and some of the selections on some of the teens weren't so good..... However that series on a whole is nice...

They have picked back up and have done a very good job with the 57,58,59,60 tracks...

Dream Dance had a kinda the same issues as well....

People say that Tunnel is more consistant, however the albums must be listened as a mix and most of the songs are too short for standalone listening. Also the beats are more repetitive and it doesn't go as epic as FT's songs do.... they are more lower profile trance songs while FT goes more epic with certain songs like Nostra Terra (Can We Turn It Around) (vol 60) Pure Energy 2012 (vol 58) Opera by Matt's Mattara (vol 58) Salva Mea (vol 56), Peaktime Symphony (vol 46) The Black Pearl (vol 46) La Isla Bonita (backslash vs mikkas rmx) (vol 45) and a few others....
