Pattern to paint on wall?

I have a friend who painted her room recently using only white paint, but she put a layer of flat white and then painted a few patterns on her wall using white eggshell paint that reflects light more than the flat paint. It actually looked pretty nice and I was trying to think of something interesting to do in my room but I'm not very creative and can't think of anything interesting.

Any thoughts on what to put?

You could paint a solid color and 'print' or rather imprint patterns from rocks, sponges, or other materials on the wall in different colors.

What color schemes do you like? Totally throwing this out there, but do you like Warhol prints?

I rent this apartment and my landlord insists on white paint only. I considered painting whatever I want and when down the road I go to move out I'll just repaint white, but I think I'll just listen to him which is why I'm looking into the Flat & Eggshell mixing to create something interesting.
