Well boys, I just bought a guitar, and here it is:

Well, I ordered the body, bridge, and wiring on eBay, and I gotta get a neck. (Gonna use strat p-ups for the single coil, and a gibson SG pickup in the bridge)
What do you guys think about it?

Looks nice got a mate who plays Jackson guitars, and he is very enthusiastic about them. What Gibson humbucker are you going to put in the bridge? a 498T?
I have never played one but they definitely have the right heavy metal look :)

Make sure you replace those tuning heads.
Also, sand down the body. If it's more than 4 pieces, sell it back off and buy a warmoth body, it'll do wonders for the sound.

Not bad, Jacksons are quality guitars.

Not sure what it is, they came out of a 1980 Gibson SG

There are 3 pieces to the body, trying to sell it right now.

Low end Jackson are far from quality, but they're not garbage either.
Hope you enjoy it!

I love how it played when I tested it a Musican's Friend. It was on a Randall 400W halfstack that kicked ass!

Thinking of getting an Epiphone?
Might I suggest:

or even:

Agile are an up and coming Korean company which produce guitars generally in between quality of Gibson and Epiphone. Guitar Player rates their cheaper models as some of the best bang for your buck on the market... They have hundreds of options available, highly recommend!

Nooooo!
If that's the one with the FR - it has the worst wood, tremolo, and electronics you'll ever use.

Nope, it has the Tune-O-Matic bridge. The body is made of Mahogany, which is a bonus. Dunno how the electronics would be tho. We must be on 2 different pages ;) :p http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Epiphone-Goth-1958-Explorer-Hardtail-Electric-Guitar?sku=517235

Not bad, but the electronics are still rubbish. You'll wanna slap some Dimarzios in to get the most out of that thing.

I'm a Seymour Duncan guy ;) I planned on some SD Blackouts, or the SH-6 (zebra style) Super Distortions
