It's really bad here too, 8-12" here too. It doesn't help that the council have neglected to snow plough my entire area and now public transport is badly effected now as most bus routes are shortened.

its like 10-20C in here :(

because my rooms corner faces the north where the super freezing winds come from.... and my house is concrete and bricks so... it acts like a cooler(the wind and concrete wall thing)

LOL this is such a relief after the 95F constant heat we battled all summer long. I feel good I can work out and work on my house and not break a huge sweat now LOL.
Plus painting walls actually is best in this weather. I painted my office this summer and the paint kept doing wierd things becuase the day and night temps were extreme (85F day and 55F night for 3 months) Hell 2 months ago it was 83F day and 36F night!!!!!

10 is really cold, 20 is cool, 25 is pleasant, 30 is warm, 50C with >75% humidity is summer. There's a city a little east of here which sees 55C peak with 80% humidity in summers. And it's not a desert, but lush green farmlands.

Anything above 20C here is a scorcher, it was really hot all September and early October. It's a pain in the ass to go from around 5C to -5C :|
Though the snow is melting here today, it's all slush now so it's a pain in the ass to walk on. Hopefully it will disappear soon, I want to go to college :(

It hasn't snowed here since the other day, and although it was melting and turning to slush yesterday it froze over last night and is hard as a rock lol. The good news is there's a thin, solid layer of snow/ice on the paths from people walking so it's possible to cycle on it, the roads are nice and icy too, fucking fun as hell to cycle on :D
It hasn't snowed here since a week either. Now it snows like hell lol. Snow plows everywhere, shoving half a meter of snow to my driveway. Plowed right thru it tho, can't stop a lowered Impreza ;)

Actually the hottest part of the Earth is at the 30 degree line. Look at a world map, you will find many deserts along that line.

We have little European style roads and plenty of idiots who decide to park in the middle of the road when it snows. They also panic buy the minute there is snow which means no fuel for others or food even though its been 4 days ...

Yea i could really see the narrow roads being a huge problem to be honest. Just came back from a trip to Barbados and i have no idea how they can stay on the road. Maybe i'm just spoiled with the wide north american lanes for wide north american people ;)

Well from my experience as a delivery driver, people are fucking retarded. I'l get you guys pictures of the lunacy. They also keep piling the snow up on the roads as opposed to their gardens and park their car on the road rather than clear their driveway.
The panic buying is the worst. Massive lines at the pumps because they somehow thing that snow will cause petrol to never appear, then proceed to leave their car parked because it's too dangerous to drive.

Canada? I live in the European Canada (which is Switzerland), so don't tell me anything about snow.
This morning, I was playing Plow King, because the snow was higher than the ground clearance of my car. We got a good 30cm of snow in some parts of Switzerland, too. At my place it was like 20.
You know for me its no big deal because
A) I like driving in the snow
B) I have a very good car for driving in the snow
C) I have very good winter tires
D) I can actually drive
But what is it worth if the guy in front of you with his FWD car and 50 bucks tires flips over...

Your point was irrelevant. The northern hemisphere is farther from the sun than the southern hemisphere at this time of the year.

It's hard to "man-up" when you get a foot of snow, blizzards and 6 inches of ice on roads in a country where it never snows, not to mention nobody has winter tires and people assume because they drive a BMW or a Merc they can handle the roads better. Thankfully we're a little more prepared now as the city is kind of taking care of things, whereas in January when it was similar weather fuck all was done about it.
Now the snow on the paths has turned to ice and anywhere you walk is extremely slippy, as if someone poured water on it. It's a pain in the ass when both your feet are slipping all over the place and you're trying to walk to the bus stop.

This happens anywhere that isn't used to getting snow. Down south in the US if it snows everything shuts down.
I live pretty far north, so it's only really bad during the first snow when people have forgotten how to drive in snow.

It's snowing here again, woke up to about 2 inches of fresh snow. It's both good and bad. The good thing is I have something to grip when walking, as before it was all ice and slippy as shit, the bad thing is, there's still snow...

Hey ya know it only snows when it's cold and the best way to keep warm in the cold is with a woman...you should call that girl see if you can go over and then ask once your their if she has anything to warm up your ears

Yeah, I live up north, and it takes a good 8" in a single night to get people worried around here. Anything less is just business as usual. Just leave for work a few minutes early to be sure you aren't late.

Went into town today, not a spot of ice to be seen anywhere! The roads and paths are completely clear it's unbelievable. Meanwhile, walking to my current redirected bus stop there's inches of ice everywhere and it's extra slippy. Even just standing still my two feet slide it's that bad :S

I'm glad I'm finished college now for the Christmas, I have a bad a cold and the weather was getting to me. I went into college and almost nobody was in, all my classes were cancelled so I just went in, had a Lemsip and left, I don't understand why they were open in the first place as schools were closed. The college party was cancelled which is just my luck as I was looking forward to it and actually have money and I just got my bike fixed (again) just in time for a foot of snow  :(
My area is getting 4 to 6" of new snow on top of the 7" we just got. Well have over a foot by Christmas.
