Me and my buddy are trying to make some video replay reviews for Company of heroes, and i was wondering if anyone out there had some idea of Video editing software we could use, right now were using windows movie makers but its not really that great, also i was wondering what if any, software is out there that can let us record the game. Right now were using fraps but its hard to use and the quality is very poor.
Any input is appreciated!

Xfire allows you to record in game footage and with good quality too. I use WMM but Nero isn't that much better. Maybe see if you can get a trial download of Nero or some other and see what you like/dislike about the differences.

Yeah Xfire does, but only for 60 seconds or something like that

Fraps can do the best quality possible on a computer (lossless). Just make sure to check AVI format before you start recording. Beware, at 1024x768, this is about 4 GiB of data every 30 seconds. You need a lot of hard drive space and pretty fast write speeds. It will also impact FPS--how much depends on the game.
I've used Nero Vision and Windows Movie Maker. Both get the job done but WMM likes to crash a lot in the middle of a project and Nero Vision crashes when you try to burn/save it. I often have to screw around with the settings in Nero Vision to get it to do what I want; however, once I get it to work, the result is usually pretty awesome.
I know there's other products out there but, if I can make one of those cheap/free alternatives work, why dish out hundreds of dollars one something else? I could only see doing that if I were making videos professionally.
I never tried CamStudio (http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/books/05/14/larry.king.track/index.html) in a game but it's free so you could give it a try without much hassle.
