Hey guys,

I have a big dilemma and I need your help. I've been jobless for a couple of months and I was reaching desperation, but Just last week though I got job offer call for an open IT position and well I passed their interviews and tests just fine BUT now I hit a brick wall. I listed TPU as a job reference, for the main purpose to show my knowledge but now they want to get a second statement from a TPU HR representative.

Can anyone help me on this? I know this is silly but it will truly help on the future. I just need someone to pass as an HR representative and let them know of my existence. I mainly need someone with a "@techpowerup.com" email if possible.

Dang guys I will really appreciate it if anyone helps me, heck ill even give away a steam game of your choice if I get the job.

PS-
I dont have much activity in here but I do in TPU.

Did you work for TPU? If so you can contact your boss, most likely W1zzard.

It would take quite a bit to get W1zzard's stamp of approval for a 'reference' of your intelligence at technical topics. Good luck man.

Ya know, I still haven't forgotten this bullshit, seems like Karma is a bitch. I wouldn't give you jack. Since you aren't actually employed at TPU, looks like you have no problem lying or stealing.

Yes, but "work" is such a relative term. (u)

You're a fucking douche.

No, douches actually get pussy. You're a goddamn enema.

Edit: Based on the G1 theft thread.

Is this the official begging thread? Because I really need some new bling to keep the shorties interested. So I'm thinking about a new grill with lottsa rubies and sapphires and such. I figure if everybody here just sends me $50, I should have enough to get a really nice one. And it's not like I'm asking for something that not a necessity. It's tough for a guy like me to get laid if I don't have the right bling. I know I've never contributed much of anything to the forum, but you still have an obligation to help me. If you don't, it's because you're a bigot and hate white people - the kind of bigot who thinks that just because we're not a minority, it's ok to discriminate. Very uncool people. Very uncool.

You heard from the boss man(Wizzard) so i guess you better cancel your application or something for the IT job.
I'm sure we are all desperate to get job/money but its still best to not lie and be honest/realistic with yourself and do the right thing.
Also listing yourself employed somewhere when you are not in your job/CV application can cost you with no evidence to back it up can fuck you over a lot.

I had to actually search for your nick in TPU because I didn't recognize it there. Also, I looked through the threads you posted in. I dunno, but if thats your idea of "showing your knowledge", you may need to overthink your job goals. I didn't spot a thread title that would require thorough IT knowledge to follow. As a HR guy at an IT company, I wouldn't be too impressed with your TPU references.

Better thing to do: Make them a list of your skills. List the problems you encountered during your "techie career" and how you solved them. Maybe you helped some people with their problems IN REAL LIFE, list THEM as reference. Thats way more impressive than "some tech forum on the interwebz". Make them think that you have indeed the knowledge it takes. Also don't brag about your mad PHP skillz when the company soley sells hardware. If you know what I mean. And don't bore the shit out of those guys with your Pirates vs. Ninjas thread participation.

Add another to the list. I hate thieves. He even tried to "steal" a reference from tpu. What a fucking low life. No wonder he's unemployed. It's called fucking KARMA.

There's this thing called forgiveness. Maybe you should try it. Stealing someone's phone, especially in the manner he did, was definitely a dick move, I agree. Thieves suck. That was over a year ago though, and I would hope he did something about it by now—turned the phone in, left it somewhere where it could be found, etc. Imagine if every one of us (yes, I am including myself) had each of our transgressions held against us forever: everybody around you knowing, condemning you for it, and you doing the same to everyone else. The planet might as well explode.

A bit more on topic—I don't think TPU is going to be a significant help to you, even if you were to receive an endorsement. People care about certificates from well-known establishments... a piece of paper from some prestigious university that tells them you know shit. They don't care about what you know, they care about what someone else says you know... and I don't think TPU would be a huge blip on their care radar.

Forgiveness is great, I have no problem accepting that some can and will change, but I see no indication of that. He still wants something without earning it.

If people get desperate enough, they'll try anything/go anywhere to help them along. I don't find it likely that TPU would give him a reference just for being a member, and for good reason. There's some people at TPU I wouldn't endorse to build a computer that was already built, so if I were W1zzard I definately wouldn't be handing out recommendations just because they're a user on my forum.

If I hear he sold the phone and gave the money to charity, ok. Repentance comes before forgiveness.

My having just got a new smartphone may have something to do with my furrowed eyebrows on this issue.

Doesn't someone wishing suffering upon another constitute that person will also recieve suffering due to bad karma?

The Karma Monster works in mysterious ways!

Eh guys, I dont think I made a very good impression on the last thread.

If it makes you feel any better a couple of weeks ago I fell into a white van scam and lost 180$...got me back in rent, and a bunch of other bills. It sucked, but I was aware of karma and just took it like a man. Later I made some of the money back by selling the device I bought to some pawn shop. So it was enough to get me back up on my feet.

Well I got the job, and thanks to the ones that at least gave some useful insight.

I was homeless at one point in my life. I didn't steal or cheat to get back on my feet.

But, hopefully with the job, he'll come around and straighten his ass out.
