A Mad Saudi boffin tried to file a patent for a chip which you inject into a person so that the state can know exactly where you are and releases a remote controlled cyanide dispenser if you do something the government does not like.

Ironically he has tried to patent his chip in Germany where 70 years ago such a chip would have been incredibly popular with the government.

The chip is designed to monitor 'undesirables' and consists of a tiny GPS transceiver placed in a capsule and inserted under a person's skin, so that authorities could track him easily.

The inventor said the chip could be used to track terrorists, criminals, fugitives, illegal immigrants, political dissidents, domestic servants and foreigners overstaying their visas. If the authorities deemed that the person was a public threat the chip would kill him at the touch of a button.

While this might work in countries where life is pretty cheap we think that the Germans have largely learnt their lesson about where that sort of power in the hands of politicians ends up.

That thing suits Saudi Arabia's near-totalitarian monarchy. That thing can actually be used as a biological weapon, and should be banned everywhere else.

I just have to knock someone down, (somehow) plant that device and make him my slave "do it or I press the button". You know what, the government can literally enslave people, if they try to flee the country, the satellite will trigger the release of poison.

Good for the people complaining about over population though.

I concur.

I hope that guy filing for the patent has one of those devices implanted so someone can kill him with the press of a button.

Why do people take the time to create such monstrosities! Who really thinks of these ideas?

Someone who can't see the consequences and/or chooses not to acknowledge them.

If somebody hacks into the mainframe that controls these devices, an entire nation's population could be wiped out at "the click of a mouse".

We should inject these in all TPU users. Far better than infractions.

I just imagine all the ways to fail. Go through a metal detector or one of those department store scanners and it sets the little bugger off. Wouldn't need to have a complaints department with the company though.

US has probably already developed it. After all we do spend more on weapons and such than the rest of the world combined. He was probably rogue or something. 1984 is getting closer......
