I just looked at my recent plays with the Zune software, and I swear I have been listening to literally NOTHING but In Flames for the past month! Are they subliminally mind controlling me into listening to only them :eek:

I sure as hell can't figure out why you would listen to them so much. There's nothing special about them at all. Pretty cookie-cutter if you ask me.

I really didn't like them at first, but each time I listened I liked them more.

I usually listen to stuff like Bullet for My Valentine, All That Remains, Parkway Drive, etc.

Try to find some off the wall progressive metal or rock. Just to expand the horizons a little.

Any suggestions? Zune's mixview is great at finding new music, but not really for anything off the wall or underground.

I dunno, not quite metal, but how about Fair to Midland or The Mars Volta?

I'm a little behind on the Prog Metal stuff.

I hope you have been listening to their older stuff! If not you don't know what you are missing. Just get The Jester Race, Whoracle or llike Subterranean...best stuff ever.

Look out At the Gates and Dark Tranquility for some other quality Melodeath :P

Seems like it's a good song; I should listen to it.

I've got a Zune Pass, so I've got everything they offer. New and old.

Give me some album suggestions and I'll take a listen :)

+1

Try some Devin Townsend (solo stuff), Mechina or Moonsorrow.

+1 on on Moonsorrow, freaking great stuff.

If you can get into progressive metal you won't look back, some of the most beautiful music ever is in this genre IMO *cough* Agalloch *cough*. Then again it's my opinion...

My two favorite In Flames songs...

I know why you're so addicted to In Flames...

Because they're only one of the best metal bands out there :)

I've been listening to a lot of In Flames too. I can't get into Reroute at all. I like everything else, even stye and asop. Their EP's have some bad ass gems too, I got black ash and subterranean, Stand Ablaze and Goliaths Disarm Their Davids, HELL YES.

Just listen to their recent album. It's so dire i could record a monkey gang rape and the resulting noises would be better that it.

and OMG another Mars Volta fan! SWEET.

No they're not. They were the first metal band i got into - but now in comparison they are weak.

For once we agree on something.

Even less cookie cutter - I'd slap them on the lower end of the spectrum
