Another one of these, right?
Anywho I was in ballroom dance class and we were doing west coast swing, and one song finished so her (the teachers) iPhone went to the next one for a few seconds, and that's the song I'm trying to find.
Basically it starts pretty slow, it's not jazzy or anything, it's old, and when it started everybody recognized it immediately. I recognized it too, but I couldn't put a name to it. Anyways I think "river" is in the lyrics, but don't hold me to it.
EDIT:
More details:
Acoustic guitar

I did dance band in high school (70's) and we did a lot of popular tunes from the 40's - all big band stuff though. No acoustic guitar. Do you think maybe it was pre-40's?
edit - just realized that being as ancient as I am that maybe "old" in this context is anything pre-90's. Oops.
Yes, moar info. Acoustig guitar and slow beginning are very very vague informations to say the least.
Can you recall more lyrics fragments? "River" is not exactly an uncommon word in songs.
Or simply ask the teacher?

When I think of pre '40s accoustic guitar, Django Reinhardt immediately pops into my mind. What a fantastic tallent, especially from a crippled hand gypsy. When teamed up with the pole smoking Stéphane Grappelli, it is a musical duo that is hard to beat.
Anyhow, he does do a version of Old Man River and Swanee River, but both are snappier than what you describe. His catchiest tune that most people recognise is Minor Swing.

It's "and I love her" by The Beatles. I'm 110% sure. It surely doesn't have the word river in it but you weren't sure about that anyway. I happen to know that that teacher has it on her iPhone, she listens to it on her way to work. It's unrelated to the class.
Obviously the rest of the hints made it easy and you are in no way extremely vague. I'm actually surprised the above replies didn't contain the right answer.

I want to know the name of that song that makes women tear my clothes off and suck my dick. I heard it once backstage at a Kiss concert and holy shit, it worked like fuckin' magic for the band.

@Twilyth:
Absolutely sure before 90s, most probably after 40s though.
@Dan:
No, but good song anyways.
Anywho, I went to sleep between then and now, so give me sometime to get it back in my head.

Well, now she played it again (all of it this time).
I was wrong, it wasn't "river" it was something along the lines of "got me on a leash, baby".

That's one hell of a misheard lyrics.
I didn't hear any of the lyrics the first time, I was going off of memory.
And you didn't think of asking her what song it is?
Hell no, that'd be too easy ;)
