And she has picked out this bad boy from amazon.co.uk (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Canon-IXUS-105-Digital-Camera/dp/B00375N4KS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1301325097&sr=8-2)
Obviously price is in £s. Is this worth her money, I guess it's not to take amazing shots like professionals do, just to take some good ones when she goes travelling and out on the town.
Budget is around £100-140.
Opinions and other recommendations are welcome.

I highly recommend she invests in something like this (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-Lumix-TZ10-Digital-Camera/dp/B0031MA0ZE/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1301328931&sr=1-1). I have the predecessor to it, the TZ7, and have had it for a year and a half and it still wipes the floor with most point and shoot cameras. The TZ10 is essentially the same as mine but with GPS, a few more megapixels and some better manual controls.
Unless she breaks it, she'll be able to hold onto it for years. I've had mine for a long time and it's also really durable if she's afraid of buying an expensive camera and it breaking. No matter what her intended uses are or skill level is, it's better to buy a mid-range point and shoot like the TZ10 over something in the budget range.

Hm, I don't think she can stretch to that much of a price. I'll stick a budget in the OP, but for now the price would be in the £100-140 range.

first, did you teach her well? if so, take a test by making her make a sammich for you. if she passes, its time for a new camera, else its back in the kitchen bitch

I'm a huge fan of the Panasonics as well, due to their Leica lenses. I got my wife a DMC-ZX1 last year, and am very happy with it. Pretty much the same camera as Dave linked to, same lens and such, just an older model, not as much zoom. I found a ZX3 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-Lumix-ZX3-Digital-Camera/dp/B0031MA112/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1305262123&sr=1-1)for 150. Good cameras, the picture quality is great, video is moderate.

I really like my Canon SD1000 as a point 'n' shoot cam, so I recommend pretty much anything Canon has on offer lol

Ok wow, forgot I even made this thread.
As far as I know she got the one I linked, and she doesn't make me sammichs. If she did they would be meatless. She is a vegetarian... <shudder>

I disagree with vegetarianism wholeheartedly. If we weren't meant to eat meat, we wouldn't have canine teeth.

Canon Ixus line is reasonable, nothing spectacular but it still does its job nicely.

We have a Canon Digital Ixus 400. Our first digital camera was an Ixus, it's 7 years old now LOL and still working (4.0MP and 256MB in 2004 was a lot at that time).
