Ok, so I need some suggestions on new rap artists and new albums to check out. Ever since I discovered hardstyle 3 years ago I've neglected rap, which used to be my favorite genre. Over the years I've expanded other genres like rock and metal, but still neglected rap.

I need some new shit. Some of the newest stuff I have is Far East Movement's Free Wired, B.o.B's album, Eminem's Recovery and Jay-Z's Blueprint 3. So you can see how little new stuff I have since one of my latest albums is 2009.

Stuff I have is mostly older artists. Some of my favorites are Jay-Z, Xzibit, D12, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, Nas, DMX, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Obie Trice, Run DMC, Method Man & Redman, Jadakiss and The Game. There's tons of others I like but don't listen to much like Mos Def and some underground shit from Yak Ballz and Necro and even Russian rap from Многоточие lol.

I listened to Snoop's album after Tha Blue Carpet Treatment that had autotune shit on it, I lost all respect for him so if there's anything newer that I should check out from him let me know, I loved Tha Blue Carpet Treatment, shame he followed it up with commercial bullshit.

Any suggestions? No shit like Soldier Boy. I'm mainly interested in newer stuff from artists I like but have yet to look them up.

Alright listen up.

My very first suggestion is Big KRIT. He is my favorite right now. He's from Mississippi and his music has that Dirty South sound but is far from commercial. You can download his new mixtape Return of 4Eva here (http://www.hotnewhiphop.com/en/view-album/11136-return-of-4-eva). The Vent, Rise and Shine, Another NIGGER, and R4 Theme Song are all great. Actually, ever song on it is really good. Also try to find songs from his album KRIT Wuz Here, all of the songs are fantastic.

Next is Currensy. New Orleans rapper with a unique style. His albums Pilot Talk and Pilot Talk II are fantastic, and all of the best were done with real instruments like basses and pianos. He also has many mixtapes which are all free. Look on Datpiff.com for them. Here's a good song off of Pilot Talk II.

Also look up Mac Miller. He just released a new mixtape which is pretty good, but his oplder mixtape called KIDS is great. Good beats and good flow. Here's a good song from that mixtape called Traffic In the Sky- http://www.hotnewhiphop.com/en/play/s/c6c0a0f-63144/

And look up Snoop's new album Doggumentary. I downloaded it and it's pretty good. Some of the songs suck but the ones that are good are really good. Example is this.

And of course I'm always obligated to suggest the legends Notorious BIG and Tupac. Tupac is my favorite (rapper) ever, and Biggie isn't far behind. Tupac put so much passion into his music that it's almost overwhelming. Biggie was just a fucking beast rhymer.

I hope you forgot to mention Tupac, for the love of rap listen to Only God Can Judge Me.

Show some respect to the late great Nate Dogg, not the best lyricist but excellent contributing artist.

Also, Beastie Boys have some great mixes. Ovbious is So What'cha Want, but check out Pass the Mic and the entire Ill Communication album.

As far as new stuff, I cant help. Old Skoolz is where its at.

That's about all I can think of at the moment.

@Soylent Joe - I've heard Wu-Tang Clan called a lot of things, "recent" is not one of them. If you want anything "recent" out of the clan, it's probably Ghostface Killah. Wu-Tang Clan is my favorite rap group of all time, and 36 Chambers is my favorite rap album of all time.

I'd add N.W.A. to the list of classics. Lupe Fiasco (not Lasers), Tech N9ne, and the Wu-Tang Clan are some better recent ones.

I would have mentioned NWA, but he already mentioned he likes Dre and Cube so I figured he has already decided if he does or doesn't like NWA. Wu-Tang is good too. And yeah old Lupe is good. Lasers wasn't even really his album, it was his label's.

Been kinda busy lately so haven't had time to check out any music yet, but thanks for all the recommendations.

I like Tupac, I just haven't gotten around to getting any of his stuff. I do have Hit Em Up though, great song. I agree with Nate Dogg, it seems like any track he was on was great and I have the Beastie Boy's Greatest Hits, but need to check out the rest of their stuff.

Why no Public Enemy?

As with Tupac, I like Public Enemy but I just don't have any of their stuff, except Fight The Power. I need to get around to it.

Yeah, I like NWA and Wu-Tang. I'll try check out Lupe, his name seems to be one of the ones I hear most in modern music.

If you look up Lupe, look at his older stuff (i.e. nothing from the past 2 years).
