WoW...... aka world of warcraft.
i know ppl play it.
i think its retarded, sorry if that offends you.
what pisses me off is
people selling their accounts/players.
WTF!?!?!?!
im tired of seeing your fucking craigslist ads titled something similar to ...
Level 80 shaman and paladin (horde) - $800
really? honestly... who the fuck buys a virtual person that you raised?
i know there are ppl out there that do but come on...
this is rediculas.
i think if you need $800 maybe you should do something more constructive with your 1000s of hours rather than wasting time and money you dont have on WoW just to build your stats so you can eventually sell your player.
1000 hours @ $8hr is alot of damn money you missed out on.
better yet...
lets make a real life game like WoW. we'll call it RWoW(real world of warcraft)
we'll see how long you make it in that game against other real life characters such as murders, drug addicts, terrorists, crazy bitch girlfriends, assholes, stuck up snobby rich folks and other of societies real life characters.

I used to know of a guy that did this when Ever Crack first came out. He could get between $100 and $500 for a good character.

This has existed long before WoW. The wtf part is that this is apparently something new for you.
Also, how much do you sleep? say 8 hours a day, that's $64 you lose a day man. How much time do you spend eating? Fuck, another $12 gone every day. The worst part, however, $8 is less than the minimum wage, you failed at your job.
Anyway, you can't say whatever you do in your free time is a waste of cash. You play games too right? So you failed?
Fact is, if you play some game, you're eventually done with it. It's great if you can get a fair amount of cash back from it afterward. It's the people who actually buy the accounts/items/whatever who are idiots. They skip all the fun of the actual game. (not speaking about WoW specifically)

minimum wage is 6.75 in the U.S.
but I'm against mmorpg's in the first place because
1. I don't f'ing want to be your friend
2. I think the amount spent on the game is ridiculous, 15$ a month x 12 months means I could have gotten 6 or more other games rather than just that 1. and yeah bladity bla you think the mmo's have "new content" all the time and infinate replayability in reality many single players do as well. the total war series has infinite replayability because no game will ever be duplicated regardless if you play the same faction 100 times, and regular rpg's can be repeated as all the different class types just the same. no matter how you spell it and rpg is the same storyline you do over and over whether online or not. And the speed at which the "new content" comes out is typically slower than sequels to single players.
3. people get way too involved in them, wow turns to wow discussion boards and wow friend groups and wow larps (yes really, so lame). if I beat nwn i move on to a new game, I don't form a club lol.
4. people selling crap, really that virtual item is that awesome that you'd pay real money for it. I dunno about you but wouldn't a hooker be cheaper and more rewarding? I mean seriously how often do some of these guys get laid?
5. kids like little kids and high pitch squeaky voices on mics. somehow their parents thought it was a good idea to give a five year old a computer and access to a credit card so that they could shrug off their responsibility as parents. and they're everywhere!
if you're not a game designer and are playing games for more than just time killing and entertainment you've crossed over to never be laid land. and that my friend is not a good place to be.

So you're planning on fighting them with spells, swords, and axes? Very realistic.

Heh Bta's comment makes me want to walk around downtown LARPing in my Wizard robe and Hat casting Lightning Bolt and Fireball and Sleep. On hookers and their pimps no less. Tennis balls will represent my spells.

Yogurt, you keep describing things _some_ people do. You don't have to ditch your actual life to play, you don't have to buy items for real money. You don't have to use a microphone or you can limit it to friends.
How often do some of these guys get laid? How often do "some" guys in bars get laid. The fact that you relate sex to gaming twice in your posts makes me wondering more about you.
As for pricing, there are plenty of free mmorpgs out there, some are even decent fun.
I love the idea behind mmorpgs, most just plain suck though. In principle they're great though.

Yeah, tennis balls are any day bigger than a pimp's 9 mm rounds. You'll win.

Psh, silly Bta. See Sleep is automatic as long as the creature isn't 4 hit die plus 3. And it affects up to a maximum of 8 hit die (per level I believe) So if the pimps are 2 hit die and the hookers are all 1 hit die, then I can put the pimp and 6 of his hookers to sleep as long as I roll a perfect 8! My d4s are usually pretty hot so I don't see this being an issue. Also, I am currently in great honor so I get an extra +1 to each die! I could be a one man pimp / hooker hunting / humping machine! And if I have Lightning Bolt and Fireball to backup my level 1 spell compliment, well then I'm sitting pretty.

So far, Niko Bellic, Carl Johnson, and Tommy Vercetti are the only characters known to have managed to do all of that.

Can't forget "Claude Speed" from Grand Theft Auto II and "Claude" from Grand Theft Auto III. Also, the one of eight choices in Grand Theft Auto: Travis, Kat, Nikki, Divine, Bubba, Troy, Kivlov and Ulrika.
And pretty much every FPS game that had a tank (like COD2). :D

I am the real life Leeroy Jenkins! The next time our RWoW party is rolling through the ghetto, I'm going to go batshit and scream profanities towards poor people out of the caravan window. When the pissed off residents come to attack, I'm running back to my hobbit hole back in the suburbs! Why? Because I has the cloak of awesomeness +10 w/ speed boost!

I'm mildly confused here on how exactly you can assume people playing WoW are spending money they don't have, are WoW players notoriously poor? More so than other gamers?

People can't really sell an account for anything decent anymore. I knew a guy who sold his level 60 Paladin for 2k, but now that they introduces triple XP and raiding is easy, it really makes a basic 80 worthless and a geared one not worth a ton.
I mean I ran triple xp, and dual boxed my own characters only took me 2 game days and 3 hours to hit 60, if someone wanted to hit the game hard thats 1 - 60 in a week, the leveling time is just not long enough anymore to allow people to return the profit they use to as leveling was a lot more lengthy before.

if you're not a game designer and are playing games for more than just time killing and entertainment you've crossed over to never be laid land. and that my friend is not a good place to be.
2. Name 5 titles that released in 2008 with Total War replayability, there just isn't going to be many, that is a great example, but most games that come out now days are a 8 - 10 hour game. It's much easier for me to spend $15 a month than save $60 for a new PS3 game or $40 - $50 for a comp game. WoW has kicked the bucket on good content though, the original 60 content was amazing and was worth that monthly fee, now is meh.
3. There are discussion boards for any game out there, even NWN, check I bet there is a massive one. Some people like things more than others, want to mod them, and know everything there is too know,m and discuss them, heck we are on a General Nonsense forum, we are literally talking about nothing, lol.
4. Reffer to my response to Fit, characters aren't worht much now, and items are worht crap as you have to be i nthe raid to get it, most your going to get for an ingame item is WoW gold, and that can't be spent at walmart.
5. Thats a stereotype, at least for any guild going for decent content clears. People assume only kids play WoW, never got that, I run across very few of them in any vent channels, and its actually shocking when you hear one.
And response to the last part that isn't numbered is, find a gf with common interests. My gf games, I get laid all the time, don't assume oyur problem is other peoples :p (jk)
