Bleeding from the anus

Sorry to make such a disturbing thread but I think the symptom is serious. I took a dump and when I looked down at my poop I saw that it was bleeding. What should I do?

I researched around and found out it could be a symptom of hemorrhoids, anal sex, etc. I'm a guy and I am not sexually active especially in the anal sex part. I'm not gay either.

I'm guessing I pushed the poop out too hard or not enough fiber?

In all likelihood it's hemorrhoids, but something like that is usually cause for going to the doc. It could be a number of things including colon cancer, Crohn's, Ulceretive Colitis, or a benign tumor. Did it hurt when you took a crap?

Blood in stool = bad. See doctor, schedule a colonoscopy, and make sure to make it.

The bleeding did not hurt and it was not severe. Meaning it stopped once I stopped pooping. But I'll be sure to schedule and appointment with my doctor.

you could always use your finger and see if you feel anything. hemmiroids can often be felt with a bit of patience. at least then you'd know what to do if you found one.
