Considering temporarily leaving the IT field to do avionics engineering. Contemplating getting a "specialist diploma in aircraft maintenance and engineering"

I think this is a bad time to change careers. I would keep going on your job and do schooling for avionics engineering off duty. That way you can switch careers when a job opens.

It's a great field, however stick with IT until you land another job. The airline industry is hard to get into, my advice is to get your schooling and or experience if you can while sticking with your current job, you never know it might not work out.

Im actually still in school, have one course left to get my associates in MIS, but the opening for the avionics just came up and it seems like a lucrative field.
