I'm following this one fairly closely. This will most likely replace my phone when it comes out.
Some early info (http://www.blackberrystorm2.org/)
Anyone else watching this phone? What about anyone with Storm experience and feedback?

Looks like a nice phone, I will be following it as well. I currently own an Iphone 3g 16gb and I love it.

The iPhone is also getting another update this year. Its called the 3G S, and will be a September release (I believe).
Not sure about feature enhancements, but the new Blackberry is supposed to right all the major physical issues with the original Storm (WiFi and touch screen). The lagginess the original had has been resolved with OS updates since it was released. These two things, plus the fact that its not Apple make me want it. I just don't like how strict Apple is on software and their hardware.

I have heard of a software/firmware update for picture mail Etc. Is the 3G S going to be a new phone?

Yep, all new phone.

My mistake, its released on June 19th, not in September.

As log as 3.0 gives me the new copy/paste and picture mail I'm a happy camper. I use it for almost all my online activities during the day, in fact I'm talking to you right now on it. So the copy/paste and a picture mail I'm looking forward to.

Is watching streaming porn over your iPhone still considered phone sex?

Unless you get a "virus", no...

That site has pretty inaccurate info. I have the Storm, and I'm waiting for Storm 2 to hit the masses.

Comparison (http://www.phonearena.com/htmls/compare_results.php?phones[]=3704&phones[]=3774)
Ok, compared to the 3GS it holds up pretty damn well. It's due to be released tomorrow so I double checked this with a few sites to find they mostly all match in specs. I'm sure they'll get tweaked in the following days though, especially regarding the internal hardware. I really want to see what processor this puppy is packing as that will likely guide my decision.
Alright so as far as I can see it seems to about match, if not best the 3GS in most areas. There are a few areas that I see a difference.
1) 3G -> Storm2 is said to be 3G capable, but I've always seen it referred to as European or Asian 3G. I wonder if this will work here in North America.
2) Display -> There is no way in hell Apple has an 8bit IPS panel running this iPhone. Absolutely 0 chance. An 8bit IPS panel, like those found in their 24" iMacs and Cinema Displays of varying sizes are the only way to get a color count like that. Yet still they advertise 16 million colors. It would seem this has arisen as a marketing thing before. Proof (http://news.softpedia.com/news/Apple-Sued-for-Deceiving-Customers-82203.shtml) Having said that I'm pretty sure each will be about even in color recreation.
3) Battery life -> I'm absolutely skeptical about the monstrous 12 hours of talk time they claim for the iPhone. Digging a little deeper, its 12 hours on 2G networks and 6 hours on 3G. Everyone else claims 4-6 hours on all networks, so I'd imagine this is probably around similar for the iPhone. I'm also going to chalk this one up to marketing (unless I can get info from a 3GS user here confirming the claim).
Anyways, I'm interested in this phone. Anyone else here with any comments, insight or anything to add in general on the Storm2 or the iPhone?

One flaw in your 16million color theory. DIthering allows a 6bit panel to reproduce 16million+ colors. It just doesn't look nearly as good as a true 8bit panel.

The storm was absolute shit.
I took one from a employee at a electrnics store as he was talkign shit to some older couple about how bad their phone was and talking up the store, ahe had his plugged in.
It took me about 5 minutes to figure out how to use texting, so I sent a nasty text to half of his contacts, looked at pics of his significant other that were somewhat revealing, and then called a few random numbers, and also forwarded "whos ass is the best" to his mother.

True, though it also depends on the quality of the LCD panel. I've seen 16 million color panels look worse thatn 262k ones. I was merely pointing out that this statistic can't be used as a plus or negative either way as really its not just about the amount of colors.

Ah yes, I can see clearly from this story why the first Storm was shit.
