Which era or time span produced, in your view, the best films overall? Or, just which produced your favorites?

If I could vote a thousand times they would all go to the 90's. It's almost every day that I find some movie that is completely awesome that was made in the 90's. '94, '97-'99: GOAT.

I agree on the 90's. The 80's had some pretty hilarious horror films

The 30's for movies like King Kong. The 50's for the drive-in surge movies. The 70's for everything Bundy listed. The 90's for the last of the original films.

70s (especially for action movies) 80s and 90s
Hoping that there will be some good independent films that start coming out soon because of the ease of production these days.

I voted for many decades. The Big Lebowski came out in the '90's. It's one of the most quotable films ever. Same thing with Pulp Fiction.

The 70's and 80's brought us the Star Wars trilogy, the 60's brought 2001 A Space Odyssey.

The 90's - 2010's brought us the Harry Potter films. We got the Lord of the Rings Trilogy during the same period, which is the finest example of a book to film translation to date.

You really can't say one generation of film making is the greatest because there are gems in every generation.

I dont think any one period is particularly better than the other, each has its classics and crappy B movies.

2000s are a bit underated but i dont think its the best era; Batman Dark Knight, LOTRs Trilogy, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, True Grit (remake), Up!, Anchorman. 2000s has its fair share of shite too though but not anymore than the 90s or 80s.

Im a big fan of John Carpenter movies but IF i had to pick one era it would be the 90s although only slightly because im biased.
Terminator 2, Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan, Jurassic Park, Toy Story, Boyz n the Hood, Waynes World, The Lion King, Reservoir Dogs, (first) Men in Black, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Happy Gilmour ect.

The 80s is when they started to pump a lot of money into film but the 90s was the era of the blockbusters. All the good releases last decade got drowned out by the ULTRA MEGA Blockbusters like Harry Potter ect.

FUCK i forgot about The Big Lebowski!!! I have that on HD DVD too!
