Wow, being "fit" is now considered bad for the health. I shouldn't have dropped 40lbs. and 15% body fat (insert sarcasm).

I just give up. Last month, a paper was published espousing a super reduced calorie diet, promising longevity.:confused:

I just want to feel good and have some more energy.

Fat insulates the body from cold, is a catalyst for fat soluable minerals, and is an energy reserve for extended periods without food. Being overweight, in terms of health, isn't far from being "normal" in many aspects (including deaths from cancer). What is dangerous/deadly is being obese. With obesity, you see increased kidney and heart failures, in addition to being at high risk for diabetes.

You can be "fit" and still carry a lot of fat. Look at sumo wrestlers for instance. Yes, they have a lot of fat on their frame but it is balanced with a lot of muscle. They eat like a horse to prevent the fat reserves they carry from being consumed by their metabolism. Powerlifters are the same--most of them carry a great deal of fat on their frame.

wouldn't say they live longer though, the UK now has the worlds oldest man at 113. He looks like a strong breeze would blow him out of his wheelchair.

Rock on him though for lasting so long. Is a bloody good effort!

The best way is to be not under weight or over weight both are just as bad.
