Mays was found unresponsive by his wife inside his Tampa, Fla., home at 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, according to the Tampa Police Department.
Police said there were no signs of forced entry to Mays' residence and foul play is not suspected. Authorities said an autopsy should be complete by Monday afternoon.
I can't believe this, it's a sad week. The strange part is, he was 50 years old as well

I just heard this too. I watched "Pitchmen" a few times and was falling in love with his "art."
Apparently, his plane had a hard landing in Tampa and he hit his head hard. He felt fine so he didn't go in. A few hours later, a brain hematoma killed him. Unfortunately, it happens quite a bit and is truely a silent killer.
Still sad.

damn dude that sucks. you gotta get checked when you hit your head. i think people don't think about it. we hit our heads plenty of times as kids but once you hit a certain age you can't hit your head anymore. or like anything else. risk of injury goes up
i would think the death of Liam Neeson's wife would have brought that to more attention. she died the same way. felt fine, 36 hours later she was gone. and brain dead before that :/

Children die from hematomas too.

The only way Hollywood would be shocked is if Michael Moore died (I hope I didn't curse him).

I think falling over won't do it. You really need to be in a vehicle and come to an abrupt stop to cause that kind of trama.

The first time I smacked my head I was in grade 7. I got smoked by a bike on my way home for lunch. I woke up in the basement at 9 pm. My parents were freakin cause they couldn't find me.
The second time was a construction accident. My GF at the time said I called her when I got home and said I hit my head I need to sleep now and I hung up the phone. She came over to check on me right after that.
You need to get your head checked if you hit it boys.

Did you go in and get an MRI or CT scan done those times?
What I'm trying to get at is that going in to get an MRI or CT done after every head injury just isn't practical. If you lose conciousness after a head injury, the pressense of a hematoma is assumed until proven otherwise (http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/intracranial-hematoma/DS00330/DSECTION=tests-and-diagnosis). If you didn't lose conciousness at any point after the injury, there may or may not be a severe hematoma.
Yeah, it is always a great idea to get checked out after a head trama but it will cost you ~$300 for an MRI and ~$800 for a CT scan. It's a tough call and a potentially life threatening one at that.

The thing that I look for in getting checked after a head injury is either a headache, and if I don't have a headache, I try to pay attention if I am unusually tired, or become sleepy very shortly after the head trauma.
Still, pretty crazy amount of stars dieing the past month. What's the total now, 5?

No, I never did. However, if either of my sons did, I would get them checked.
