The first was a French A330, now a Yemeni A310:

I'll chalk it up to chance until I hear something that definitively states otherwise. Gonna suck balls for the Airbus shareholders tho.

I believe the NTSB has launched an investigation probe into both crashes but because neither are USA's jurisdiction, they probably aren't going to get very far with it.

Guess it's just one of those "wait and see" moments in time.

another one that was down to chance. These things can happen, kinda makes you think how much these pilots are relying on computers to do it for them though.

First I like to state that I have nothing to o with those incidents.
Second, you really should rely on those computers. Flyinga machine this size, in that height, with no visual reference to the ground, with 400 miles per hour and in a very busy airspace (the next aircraft is two minutes behind you, and only 1000 feet below and above you are others)... its virtually impossible.
Also at LEAST two of each systems are present. Vital systems are installed three or four times.
This to add:p However if you take into account the large numbers of flights every day (just we here in Zurich handle +2000 flight announcements a day), those crashes are a one in a million.

Yeah, as far as I know, it is still safer to fly than drive in terms of death per transit.

There was a two year old girl that survived a Detroit aircraft crash too. No idea how on either case.

Or his smite on them missed, and he only got the rest in the plane.

Or she was at the right place at the right time and didn't get subjected to deadly Gs. I imagine that if you are attached to the aircraft, braced in the proper neck-saving position, and the aircraft crumpled in front of you absorbing the crash, you could survive. We're talking like 1 in 10,000+ odds here though that everything goes just right for a few to be spared.

I stick by my answer of 'God missed'.

God doesn't miss, unless it's on purpose. ;)

Hasn't hit me yet. I still suffer no purpose.
