i think i broke a bone in my foot

is there anything i should do other than the normal things you do when you break something?

i've broke the same bone in my other foot but that was a long time ago.

i think i just stayed off of it for 2 weeks and i was good after that.

i have no insurance so going to a doc/hospital isnt a viable option.... plus my pain level is about a 1-2 on the hospital scale so its really not that bad.

In what area does the pain come from, toe? middle? near the ankle...?

The whole thing feels fine until I put weight on it.

The bone that I'm pretty sure is broke is the outer most one that goes from the ankle to the pinky toe. It hurts(sorta) in the middle.

Hmm, that is usually what I call a stone bruise. Where you step on a rock and bruise the bone. Usually you know when you have broken a bone by how bad it hurts.

If so then yea, then rest. Try some light physiotherapy to keep the blood moving and a nice supply of nutrients so it heals quicker.

This is what sucks in America.....your hurt, and you can't just run to the Dr for fear of cost.....

It was 20 grand to fix my hand I broke, and THANK GOD I had insurance at the time. Now if I happen to break anything ATM I'm fucked as you are......


It will heal given time, now if it's not set right now when it heals it could give you problems down the road...I hope the best for you fit, and that it can heal on it's own without any bad after side affects.


You could of also cracked it. My dad cracked both of his feet just where you are talking about. It took years for it to heal up to be painless......

at this point, im nearing 24hours after i hurt it and im able to walk pretty well.... not perfect though. i still have some pain but not alot.

it goes through hot and cold spells so im pretty sure its broke... or was. its probably started to heal by now.

Just rest up, those bones can heal quickly as they are small so doesn't take much to break/repair them.

as pictured above, but now worse, my foot has turned blue/purple from mid foot to the back of my ankle.

it has stopped hurting and now just feels not so normal but im sure its fine.

i have been riding bikes on it since the minute it happened LOL!

it feels fine so im not worried but i still have a tab bit of self consciousness that keeps me from fucking it up any more than it already is. kinda hard to explain though.

I get stress fractures in my metatarsals quite often. (being fat is hard on your body. lol.) They usually heal pretty quickly. If you stop with the bike riding and strenuous activity, it will heal sooner. Also, if you continue with the strenuous, you run the risk of damaging it further. Just take it easy for like 1 1/2 - 2 weeks, and it will likely be fine.
