Maryland General Assembly passed resolutions recognizing that the colony William Claiborne established on the Island of Kent in 1631 as the first permanent English settlement in what is now the State of Maryland.
For a long time, researchers have placed this 1631 settlement of Kent Island among the earliest permanent English colonies on the North American continent.
William Claiborne is my great great great LOL don't know how many Grandpa, but I thought this was a neat thing to share.

My Mothers side both parents and up, and along with the same with my Fathers side all came to America in the 1600s.
Kind of a kool thing to be able to tell people about my family.
