A few weeks ago someone here got a bill of many millions. They entered her customer ID in the wrong field :)

You can't charge more than $1000 on a card here without waiting 3-7 days for the bank to verify the transaction.

Then you'd rather pay etailers with cheques sent over USPS priority (for > $1000 purchases, and maybe save on surcharges).

Naw, I still use credit cards. I just try to keep the orders $999 or less or know that there is going to be a delay if it is over.

There were actually several of these around the world on the same day, all charged the exact same number, around 5 or 6 of them if i'm not mistaken. Some kind of system-wide error.

I have never had to wait 3-7 days, only if I deposit a large check. My last commission check took a couple extra days, moreso as the baks like to use your money as float, and not borrow from the federal reserve untill they are legally required to give you your money.
I bought some of my theater components in one day, over 3K and never had a issue. The only time I have had an issue was with a company card, and spending a few thousand at the egg. A quick phone call cleared that up however.
