I like it. Good image quality, wide angle, powered by two AA batteries, and I got it new & shipped for under $150.

Canon Powershot A720 IS

More than I'll ever need in a camera, and it serves me well for how little I use it.

Panasonic Lumix TZ7. 10MP, 12x optical zoom, 25mm wide angle lens, 720p video, 3" screen and awesome optical image stabilizer topped off with a 32GB SDHC card. Just wish I had a second battery, can't find them anywhere and apparently they run for like €55 :(

Need to pickup a tripod, only €25 for them but it's one of those things I never get around to getting lol.

Wouldn't mind a Digital SLR (Can get them as low as ~€400 but they don't seem much better than a point and shoot other than the higher optical zoom) but apparently it's best to buy a higher end one for like €750 or something, I wouldn't mind having a super wide angle lens or just extremely high detail pictures, I like the idea of taking photographs of people.

Yeah, actually my biggest complaint is how small my camera is. It's not as comfortable as some of the larger cameras. I'm not sure what the Sony designers were thinking, who really wants a small DSLR that's harder to hold? It's not like it's more portable when it's half an inch smaller.

For sure is that an old camera's better than a modern cellphone.

Here's a picture in the dark, indoors with my LG KM900:

And here's the same picture with my Canon Digital Ixus 400 (p.s. the 'starry lights effect' are probably due to an extremely dirty lens lol):

Nikon D50 user here. I've been taking pictures with it for a few years but have only recently started tinkering with the more advanced settings.

http://www.cameralabs.com/reviews/NikonD50/images/NikonD50_main.jpg

I also have a Kodak EasyShare MD853 that I got on clearance at Target. I basically only use it for quick snapshots or when the D40's batteries are dead. It takes huge pictures but the quality is not up to par.

9 year old Canon Powershot S30 :D Thats back when they still offered RAW mode on a point and shoot (now its only on a select few). Eventually I'll upgrade when they put out that "just right for me" camera. Until then I have friends with Nikon D90 and Canon 5D Mark II for when I need a nice shot.

I can pick up either with about a 100.00 price difference..just want to be sure I have no regrets.

I haven't kept up with the new models, but I can point you to a great resource for these decisions. W1z showed me this site, and it led to my choosing the Eos 400D, and I couldn't be happier.

That's the cam I have. These days, I take it out with me less and less and I'm really wanting a DSLR, but no way can I afford one; nor do I have any practical reason for spending every penny I get to buy one.
