Just putting this out there for anyone who wants to comment on the game as it happens. (toast)

I'd be happiest if they didn't talk about it until the day or two before it happens. I'm hearing crap about it a month in advance and it's already getting old. :(

I fucked up. I don't follow these things until it gets to the final game and I thought the playoff game today was the actual super bowl - d'oh.
I was just going to delete the thread, but now I can't. Double d'oh.
Well I'm going to watch now - rooting for the Giants obviously.

Giants beat the 49'ers. Woo-hoo!! 2 regional teams in the super bowl. Should be a good game with the Patriots favored by only 3.5 points. I'm putting "everything" on the Giants. (ww)

booo fricken rematch of 2007. If I wanted to see the same teams in the championship over and over again I'd watch basketball.
Both barely got by their respective title games so it's anyones game. Based on the way the Giants D has been playing it's hard for me to expect a shootout. So I'd expect it to be as boring as this weekends games.
Long time niners fan here and seriously if williams isn't cut Ima run him over with my car to make sure he can't screw anything else up. At least on IR he wouldn't be droping game changing punt returns.

Well I'm certainly happy to see this. Patriots in the Super Bowl and against the Giants again! Time to get some payback :)
Long as Brady is on his game this time

won't matter if brady shows up, Jacoby Jones passed his curse onto Kyle Williams who now passes it onto Julian Edelman.
It won't matter what Tom does because the punt/kick returner will muff it up and the game will be lost.
So let it be written, So let it be done!

1st time in a very long time that I didn't watch it at all. The Giants and the Patriots are definitely the two teams I don't care about whatsoever.

I thought about not watching. In the end, I felt obligated to watch it, even though I really don't care about either team. Prboably because I've not missed one since I was 11 yrs. old.

I was rooting for the Giants because I can't stand Tom Brady...not that he's an ass or anything but because he makes to much money....
As to this Super Bowl not being watched by people that have never missed a Super Bowl...
It's understandable and I REALLY REALLY want the NFL to restructure itself to never let this game happen again!!!
Two teams that close = a lot of people giving not one fuck.
I'd of been 10x more thrilled to see the Patriots and the 49's or the Giants and Green Bay....But New York and Boston C'mon!!!

I don't see how you could ever guarantee that. But yeah, it probably did suck for the rest of the country. I suspect that's why this Super Bowl didn't break the record for viewership this year.
I fucking hate the Patriots, but I don't really know why. I don't have strong feelings about any other teams in the area and don't even watch during the regular season.
As for the QBs cashing in, Manning has beat Brady to the $3M mark for endorsements and I think they said he's on track to make $7M - I guess that's for this year.

I just saw that the Doritos commercial was rated has having the greatest impact. It's the one where the great dane bribes the guy to keep quiet about finding the cat's id tags in the garden - wink, wink.
That commercial cost $20 to make - as in, 20, two-zero, bucks.
Wonder what they spent on the Elton John Pimpsi commercial.

I think you're the one with no taste. A woman would be fortunate to look that good in her 50s. Yummy.

I liked the Bud commercials myself. End to Prohibition! Whoooooo!!!
Then of course that car commercial with Jerry Seinfeld, found it definately clever.
On the con side was that idiocy with that kid who peed in the pool. One of the dumbest I ever saw. Slightly worse than that phone commercial where those idiots started dancing and singing in the streets, all thanks to getting to use a pen on your touchscreen instead of your finger. Bah.

I thanked you but I want to distance myself from your Madonna comments. I don't really like her to begin with so I hit pause and then skipped through her performance. Didn't really like the new tune. It wasn't punchy enough for a super bowl. And then, of all of the old tunes she could pull out, she picked another snoozer. What was up with that?
I may have missed a song though - unless there were only 2.
As to her looks, I don't know how much work she's had done, but I do give her credit for not looking like one of those typical Hollywood types with the fish lips and expressionless botoxed face.

I always liked "Vogue" myself and the hook in "Music" gets stuck in your head :D
Her other 2songs i didn't really care for though (i believe there were 4 total)
As to her looks, I really don't think she has the plastic face that someone like the current Mrs. Gingrich has. Now THAT is something spooky to behold.

well vagas is probablly reeling, apparently when the giants were 6-6 the odds for them to win the superbowl were 95 to 1....and giants fans jumped on it, then when they went 7-7 the odds were a slightly better 60-1 and again giants fans jumped on it.
some Giants fan out there just cashed in on the bet of his life.
twilyth
02-07-2012, 09:35 PM
That doesn't make any sense. The spread was 3 points. For those kinds of odds it would have to be like 10^6

the spread only happens after the championships are done and they know who's in it.
when I say 6-6 it means 6 wins and 6 losses in their first 12 games of the regular season, bookies in vegas didn't even see them making the playoffs at that point and put their odds to win the SB at 95-1. Giants fans took the gamble and someone got a 95 to 1 payout.
then they beat dallas and the odds increased, then dropped again after a loss to the 4 -9 at the time redskins, so the odds went low again, not as low, but at 60 to 1 giants fans jumped on it again. So again those fans who took that bet got 60 to 1 payouts.

Dear theJesus,
I've always appreciated most of your ramblings on the internet, and also the cool stories about you in the bible. The Cialis commercials tell me that if I have a resurrection that lasts more than 4 hours then I should consult a physician. You proved you were the son of God by having a resurrection that lasted 3 days. A truly amazing feat of strength.
Now I come to see what you have to say in the Superbowl thread and I come to find that Mrs. Newt Gingrich is now your avatar.
Fuck you, theJesus, fuck you very much.

This is a classic bout folks. Jesus has the resurrection advantage but at the end of the 3rd round, he's behind on points.
Which way will this go?
