Right now got a pc in from my neighbour, very good neighbour and very helpful so I said I'd fix their machine for free. It was so loaded up with virus' I decided reformat would be the best option so I thought hey win7 would be nice .... installed it etc and then it hit me it will expire eventually, DAMN !!! get xp onto a CD and then the CD won't boot so I eventually coax it into installing and it's acting up now :( when will this end.

Holding the power button in for five seconds activates the PSU cut off. All electricity is discharged from the motherboard without preperation to do so. Worst case scenario: the cut off occurs while the hard drives are writing data to the drive and that sector is corrupted as a result.

Pressing the power button quick, on ATX motherboards, is handled by the OS. Traditionally, that means proper shutdown where everything important is written to the hard drive(s), the hard drives report zero activity, and then the order is given to the PSU to cut off.

Holding the power button in, therefore, runs a very remote risk of data corruption on the hard drive while shutting down properly minimizes that risk.

I hate tailgaters sooooo much. specially because i drive a standard. and iv been driving cars for a few years. and no matter how could you get you will always rool back a few inches. i mean you can make it so you dont but their is no way im riding my clutch that uch to prevent hitting some douche bag on a stepp hill. its like dude why did the guy with no concept of 3ft behind decide to pull up behind me. and when people are riht on my ass when im doing 10/15 over its like WTF? sometimes a douche though ill pull over for these people then ill speed up and ride their ass

I keep a small container of pennies on the ledge below my dashboad just for tailgaters. The speed limit is 70 mph here, so when you pitch a couple of pennies out your car window it really leaves an impression on the bastard/bitch who is riding your ass. In the mornings on the way to work I used to dump my coffee out the window, which worked really well, but then I didn't have any damn coffee left! So I came up with the penny idea. Works fantastic.

Worse tailgaiter I had...speed limit is 55 MPH, I'm doing 65..some redneck fuck comes speeding up behind me, so I stay parallel to the car beside me. Douche goes from the left lane to the emergency lane to get around us, hops back in the left lane and slams on brakes in front of me, gives me the finger and continues to torment me for a few more hundred feet. Everyone around me who saw it was throwing their hands up in a questioning manner as to why he did all that for a few extra MPH.

My Jeep has a rear wiper and the wiper fluid nozzle is broke so that if I hit the button it shoots washer fluid straight back. Works great for tailgaters.

Ha, thats funny. My old car had funny front fluid nozzle's that spit out waaay too much at a time, basically it overshot the car and could make a mess for the people behind me. :D

I see it all the time and is sad, children are steping all on their parents because they don't recieve the right discipline. because "time out" dosn't fix everything!:p

I was one of the poor children what was beat! But i learned my place and wouldn't do an EIGHT of the shit i see "young adults" do (ages 13-21). Even though my parents might have taken it to an extreme, not like straight out I am going abuse my child by putting his face on the stove or shit, but there were times I couldn’t sit down! But I see disciplining your children as caring for them and looking out for their future. Why you might ask, because you have taught them what not to do, so they will no longer do it.

Which leads me to another that grinds my gears, parents and doctors who throw medication at children to straighten them out, instead of first properly trying to help them, or just generally beating their ass until they straighten out their act.

If these don't work, then perhaps medication, as the child may be ill, but all this Ritalin and ADHD bs needs to go for the most part. It's just an excuse for lazy parenting and doctoring.

I agree with that 100% I'm sick and tired of hearing my kids tell me about the stuff their friends' parents let them get away with, like the way they talk to their parents, for example. My kids dare not cross those lines because they know the paddle will come out, and they will lose every privilege they have for weeks at a time. They get to sit (but not until after the pain subsides. lol) in their bed and read/write do school work.
