IQ testing has always been contested. It is far from fool-proof and should always be taken with a large grain of salt.

The more melanin, the darker the skin appears. Melanin is also responsible for the coloring of the iris of the eye. Albinos lack melanin.

Why I remember all that is is beyond me. I have no use for that information. :\

Google, Super Critical Fluids or Ferofluids and see if you can find an antigravitational vehicle.

Egg, more specifically, gametes. The chicken is the result of specific genetic sequence in the egg. Change that sequence (vitro fertilization) and your chicken egg could no longer be considered a chicken. For instance, it might be a turkey.

on the first one i got 102 after clicking randomly on the last twelve because I got bored... perhaps if I get a sudden burst of "pay attention" I'll finish it and post a SS. In high school the one we took was way more in depth and I scored 132... doubt I could do it again. Knew way more math back then.

I did score 94 on the ASVAB when I went for my marine corps testing. Suppose that counts for something.

No, you'd probably get around 100. I did the first half in under 10 minutes and mostly guessed at the rest and got a 103 I think.

FordGT90Concept
04-28-2012, 12:38 AM
Yeah, I went through the first half quickly because I am satisfied with just checking horizontal and vertical logic. In the second half, I get progressively slower because I find myself checking shift, rotation, diagonal, positional, etc. logic. By the last 9 questions, I simply bog myself down with possibilities feeling like I should take each problem aside and write a program to test them all. XD

I think I reached the last 9 with about 15-20 minutes left on the clock. I only managed to answer 1-3 of them before I ran out of time.

theJesus
04-28-2012, 01:21 AM

Your age adjusted IQ score is 112 and the average score of all test takers is 100.

Your IQ score is the result of a formula based on the number of questions answered correctly on the test. This score has been further adjusted to account for the differences in capabilities among various age groups

See what your current position is

Grade Range Percent
Genius 144 0.13%
Gifted 130-144 2.14%
Above average 115-129 13.59%
Higher average 100-114 34.13%
Lower average 85-99 34.13%

I know, but I always take tests at my own pace. I refuse to answer a question unless I have a rational explaination for an answer and my explaination has no holes. So naturally, I spend a lot of time on complex problems checking for holes. I may arrive at the correct answer within seconds but spend another minute making sure it is right.

mtosev
10-04-2012, 09:51 PM
haha. that's not the best logic for doing tests. every test I take that has a time limit I first answer the stuff I know, then I do the stuff that is more challenging and if I have any time left I go again over my answers and I check if I maybe made any mistakes

FordGT90Concept
10-04-2012, 10:03 PM
How is it not the best "logic?" Logic to me dictates tests shouldn't be timed. It would take me longer to analyze every problem twice than solving it correctly the first time.

logic dictates that all problems have their own inherent time limits thus restricting the amount of time one has to solve said problems.

ex: an invasion force is on its way, they will be here in 2 weeks.

ex2: Our wedding is in 2 months and we need to figure out where people are sitting for the reception.

ex3: my car broke down, I need to figure out whether its worth fixing or if I should buy another.

ex4: The ceo is on his way down here, we need to come up with an explanation for why the project failed.

ex5: I'm running out of gas.

ex6: my house is on fire

and etc.

your current logic cost you getting more points on that IQ test. if u wouldn't have wasted too much time of some questions you would have gotten a better score at the end.
maybe it would cost more time but u wasted precious time on some questions and a ran out of time to do the rest. I'm talking about that. school tests are also timed. i dunno how much time ppl in american schools have to finish a test but here the limit is 45min on a normal test. if you didn't lose so much time on some questions you would have finished the test, answered more questions (probably also gotten a higher score) and had time left to check over your answers without leaving some questions unanswered

Not necessarily. It likely would have been a wash. The faster you go, the more mistakes you make.

Except the standardized tests in school (Iowa Test of Basic Skills and ACT tests), nothing was timed. They preferred you finish the test before the class period ends and sometimes I went over by a few minutes but they don't mind too much. Outside of standardized tests, they never forced me to hand in an incompleted test.

The problem with these tests is they often rely on imagery. It isn't a simple "what is the capital of the Norway?" Oslo. The answers do not rely on prior knowledge, but pattern recognition. Complex patterns take time to decipher and in deciphering it, might even find another complex pattern within. Once you spot the pattern, you then have to process the images in a specific order to fill in the blank. It takes time.

Case in point: even having not answered all the questions, I still got a better score than you.

yes u did. i don't waste too much time on a given question and also I didn't even try to answer any questions that weren't logical to me.also i couldn't answer the alphabet question as i don't know the whole alphabet in any language
PS my point wasn't that u got more points than me but that u wasted time and gotten a lower score

my logic that u got less points can be proven easily.do the test again without wasting to much time on one question and u will see that u will get more points

I remember the answers I gave last time so I effectively only have to solve the last 10. Of course I'll get better results.

well u can forget me remembering that. when I was 6-7 years old i never could remember the whole alphabet. i can't remember all of those letters in the correct order. also the alphabet in my language is different and also don't know that one

PS look at my edit in the #103 post

Which is why they time tests to see how fast you can do it. I think speed is good on these tests. I've done tests both ways and I always get better scores when I'm not thinking that hard.

The test in the OP I got 126 on, the latest one he posted 122. Then ones I've done "irl" were in the 130s. Which isn't natural.

I've never done a court-admissible IQ test. Don't intend to either.
